We bought a 2011 Jetta as well and were pleased with the deal we got. The car also needed a small scratch fixed a couple of days later. There were no problems at all. I researched the vehicle I wanted for quite sometime so I knew I wanted a VW and looked at other dealers. I'm SO glad that I went to AutoBarn of Mount Prospect. I set up an appointment with Jeff, the online sales gentleman and ended up going in early for my appointment. When I arrived all the sale people were busy but Jeff came out and greeted me, which I highly appreciated. My salesman, Sam Schuetz was personable, informative and didn't give me the pressure I felt at the previous dealership. I knew what I wanted to pay and wasn't budging. While I did go a few expected rounds on the price, I was comfortable with the deal. It's been 2 weeks since I have had my new car and I have been contacted a couple of times on how I like the vehicle and to set up appointments for included services. The follow-up with Sam has been really refreshing. I had a Mercedes before this and didn't have anything like the customer service I received from VW Autobarn, specifically Sam. So far, I am one happy customer. I'd recommend an appointment to get the time that you need to speak with someone. Seems like the word is out that this is a great place to get a car! (oh and the selection was FANTASTIC!) A+ all around! More

The price was now $23,000 to allow for 'Certification, processing, and vehicle delivery costs' The advertisement was fraudulent, pure and simple. We went through the typical dealership negotiation dance...'Let me check with my manager... stalling 20 minutes per 'visit'...."If it were up to me"...."Initial here that you'll take it at this price"... I didn't think dealers used those sleazy tactics anymore. Finally walked out. The salesman followed us into the parking lot with a 'last chance' offer. I said no. Then it went back to my last offer. And suddenly we didn't need a manager's approval. Went to the finance manager. Title fees are $300. "Really??!!" Title fees charged by the state are $15. The dishonesty and sleazy tactics permeates everywhere. We will buy another VW sometime in the near future, but I guarantee we will not ever go back to autobarn. More
