It was great until the very end We recently leased the 2016 Volvo XC90. We test drove with Ryan and immediately liked him and the car. We proceeded to do all of our negotiations via email and we received timely responses and clear answers to our questions. After we agreed to our deal, my family and I went to the dealership on Saturday, which was quite busy. We ended up changing the car that we wanted which lead to a longer waiting time. We had no issues with this, until the manager arrived questioning the agreed upon interest rate/money factor. He informed us that the money factor quote that we received from a competing dealership was for a Momentum model, not the Inscription that we were getting. When I questioned this, he showed me his binder of rates. Initially, I was shown rates on a completely different model (I believe one of the sedans), and was told, "This is the ABC model, but it doesn't matter..." That didn't sit right with me, so I interrupted him and immediately asked to see the rates for the XC90, which were swiftly brought. Then, he quickly started telling us how a lower credit score affected the rate, but we were already in the highest bracket, so that wasn't applicable. When I looked at this chart, I noticed the agreed upon interest rate was clearly listed WITH the Inscription trim level. I again questioned what the issue was, and immediately he "noticed" that he was looking at a 39-month lease versus our agreed upon 36-month lease and quickly left the office to "finish up". Perhaps this was an honest mistake, perhaps it was a ploy...my husband and I have yet to decide on this, but all we know is that it put a sour taste in our mouth and did not make us feel comfortable. I am glad that I did everything via email and had all of my information in order when we did sign the papers. When that time finally came, we were able to tie back all the agreed upon numbers and the manager answered our questions effectively so that we felt comfortable signing the papers. Therefore, we are giving the dealership 3-stars because Ryan definitely sold us on the car, was great with follow-up and very personable. However, we wish the ending would have gone more smoothly and that we wouldn't have had a curve ball thrown in after waiting for over 2.5 hours with our hungry 2 and 5 year-olds. I marked Yes for recommending this dealership because during my email negotiations with other dealerships, I had a terrible experience with another sales manager at a competing dealer (different than the one that quoted our interest rate/money factor). I can honestly say I did not have that experience at Annapolis Volvo. More
