As a young man, David J. Long Jr. always thought he would serve with the Peace Corps or become a teacher. But with the promise of a good job with Ford Motor Company during college Long refocused his vision into growing a successful business while helping to improve the lives of others in his Princeton area community.
Health care, safety and children are at the forefront of the causes and organizations to which Long and his family devote their time, energy and money. Long, who owns three Volvo dealerships in and around Princeton, is a rallying force in the community, serving on boards and donating time, cars and money to various programs and projects.

The dealership is attentive to customer service and is nice to customers. I had a tire blowout, the day after I had my car serviced. My daughter, who commutes 1 hour to Princeton for work, brought the car into the dealership service center when the Urgent SRS code (airbags) came on while driving on 195. Upon arrival, she explained that she lives 1 hour away and asked if the car would be ready before 3pm. John stated that the car should be diagnosed but that he could not guarantee it would be ready before 3pm. My daughter stated she would need to a car to drive home after work and attend classes in New Brunswick the following morning. He said there would be an update early afternoon. Within the hour, I received an email stated the car was promised by 4pm. Upon calling to check on the status at 2:40pm, John was incredibly disrespectful and patronizing towards my daughter. I called him immediately afterwards and he was just as disrespectful towards me. The experience was horrible and we will not return to the dealership for service or the purchase of future Volvos (I currently own 4). More
