Recently I took my 2016 XC 90 in for a service. I bought my SUV December 23, 2019. Currently my vehicle has 67,000 miles on it. I was called later in the day to be informed that I would need to pay for seve my SUV December 23, 2019. Currently my vehicle has 67,000 miles on it. I was called later in the day to be informed that I would need to pay for several weeks of testing to ultimately attempt to apply for goodwill money to replace my engine and pistons. However, there was no Guarantee that goodwill money would aid in this cost. I was extremely confused how could a car that is supposed to last for a lifetime (as Volvo states) already need an engine replaced at 67,000 miles? I was told in the service department that it was best to get out now. I was kindly shown other vehicle so that I could purchase a ticket price on the car. Not only would they not negotiate the price they would also not give me payoff for my current vehicle therefore leaving me with a higher car payment because of a problem with manufacturing aluminum engines. I was told to choose a 2018 or higher to avoid this problem in another vehicle I purchased. I was also told this happens to multiple cars but unfortunately it was not a recall yet. Therefore, I would be responsible for the charges. When leaving the dealership I was told if I chose to purchase a new car they would not charge me the diagnostic fee. Even though they couldn’t diagnose my car they were just going to run a series of test because they thought they knew the problem and needed to prove it. I have purchased in my lifetime two cars from Volvo of the Triad and my family five or six. It didn’t used to be like other car dealerships. At this point the luxury of a Volvo service does not exist. It is just a basic car dealership with no amenities for those that choose to be Volvo drivers. The oil changes for life do not include if there’s an issue with your car. I would highly advise choosing another vehicle especially if Volvo of the Triad cannot stand behind the ones they sell. I am extremely disappointed! More
The service I received was excellent and the sales process was seamless. It was well worth the 50+ mile trip to Winston-Salem to purchase the car. Dennis rates 5 stars. process was seamless. It was well worth the 50+ mile trip to Winston-Salem to purchase the car. Dennis rates 5 stars. More

The only reason I gave 1 star is because I can’t give The only reason I gave 1 star is because I can’t give negative 10 stars. Long story short: 2016 engine blew up at 62,000 miles. This was my 26 year The only reason I gave 1 star is because I can’t give negative 10 stars. Long story short: 2016 engine blew up at 62,000 miles. This was my 26 year old daughter’s first car she bought on her own. This dealership never diagnosed why the engine blew up. Speculated the timing belt skipped (a Volvo timing belt should last for 250k miles). Even if that was the case, that is a manufacturing issue. No blame could be placed on my daughter for the engine blowing up, although Volvo USA customer service tried to tell my husband the timing belt skipped because the spark plugs were 2k miles overdue to be changed (this is a mechanical impossibility). They wanted to charger her $16k for a new engine. Told us they would do us a favor and put a rebuilt one in for $10k or they would buy it from her for $6500. She owes $15k. There were no good options for her. We dealt with the local dealership, Volvo National and Volvo International in Sweden. They would not stand behind their motor. We would have gladly paid the labor to have a rebuilt motor put in, but we feel Volvo should have provided the motor at their cost. We felt that was reasonable. We weren’t looking for a hand out, but also knew Volvo needed to own some responsibility for the workmanship of this motor. There are lots of reports online of similar issues with no known cause (don’t take my word for it, do the research). I have gone to social media, and people have reached out with similar issues. One person reached out and said they did not go back to this dealership when they bought their second Volvo because the service department was so bad. Our next stop will be to the local news station. We do not want this to happen to anyone else. Do not invest 10s of thousands of dollars in a product that a company will not stand behind. Ralph in particular was very rude. When we had AAA come pick the car up they wouldn’t even tell the driver which car was my daughter’s. She had to go to the dealership to tell him. My daughter lives in Mooresville. When we found our own used engine and someone to put it in, so my daughter would only lose $4000 my husband walked into the dealership and the first thing Ralph said to my husband was “ you are a bold faced liar!” Who lets their people talk to customers like that? If choosing a different path so our daughter doesn’t have as much financial fallout from buying a lemon, then yes I guess he is a liar, because we originally told them we would sell them the car back. What I would have expected from a decent human being would have been understanding that we were able to make her bad situation a little better, but that did not happen. We had always heard Volvos were great cars, they last forever. That may have been the case for the Volvo of yesteryear, but that was not our experience with today’s Volvo. Buyer beware. However, if you feel you have to buy a Volvo, do me a personal favor and buy it anywhere but from this dealership. Our next stop...Modern Toyota! More

Discovered at the last minute, they did not have the tool to remove the roof rack, and it was mailed to me within days. Outstanding folks, off the charts integrity, best internet sale experience by far, highly recommended. More

Classic bait and switch company!!! DO NOT - believe the internet pricing on their cars!! Complete waste of time if you aren’t trading in a vehicle or if you aren’t financing so they can manipulate numbers. internet pricing on their cars!! I have pictures of cars with prices and as we were texting prices online were changing, which I also took pictures. Buyer beware!! I would give a zero star rating if I could. More

This has probably been one of the worst dealership experiences I’ve had in a long time. I had initially inquired on an 07 Acura they had posted for sale Saturday 7/11. I was put in contact with Daniel experiences I’ve had in a long time. I had initially inquired on an 07 Acura they had posted for sale Saturday 7/11. I was put in contact with Daniel Holder who had initially offered to have me stop by Monday to try and take a look at the vehicle after it was out of its “200 Point inspection”. I was unable to do so due to my work schedule so I was promised pictures of the vehicle to be sent Monday instead, which was acceptable. I was able to free up my schedule to stop by Monday and had reached out to Mr. Holder to inform him. He said he would inquire and see when the vehicle would be ready so that it may be viewed and that he would follow up as soon as possible. Mind you, I had informed him if everything checks out I am ready to purchase the vehicle as I was already financed and only needed info on the car and a test drive. His last contact on Monday was around 9 AM and I did not receive another word until almost 2 PM Monday, almost 5 hours later just to inform me that the vehicle wasn’t ready. If the poor level of communication wasn’t an initial indicator of how the remainder of this experience was going to go, the following would solidify it. I later before the dealership closed told Mr. Holder what my available times would be Wednesday and Thursday to try and look at the vehicle. I did not receive a response until the following morning (Tuesday) informing me the vehicle may be available earlier to view and take a test drive. I had informed him of my previous schedule arrangements and that I just need the previously promised photos and minimal service history that I had requested. Mr. Holder informed me at 930 AM that he would do his “due diligence” and send this information to me. I waited until nearly 2 PM without a response, so I called the dealership and asked for a manager. Both managers on staff at the time were apparently “out of the office” or “with customers” and I had left my name and number waiting for a call back. I waited almost an hour and a half without any response. I then called again and was put in touch with Brittany White who was the internet sales manager informing her of my frustration and disappointment with how poorly the situation has been handled so far. They said they understood and was able to send me photos of the vehicle in a timely manner. After doing so I offered to place a deposit on the vehicle and was informed I would need $2,000 in order for it to be held; which is unheard of for a deposit as that’s more along the lines of a down payment and the majority of dealerships I’ve dealt with only require between $100-$500 to secure a vehicle; not to mention I was already pre approved through my credit union as I later informed her. Her response to this was only an increase in the vehicle’s price and an out the door price; seemingly asking me to make an offer and essentially buy a car that I haven’t even been able to test drive due to my appointed sales person’s negligence. At this point I was essentially finished and no longer interested as it was clear this dealership was not to any standard of professionalism; especially towards a client and serious buyer that has informed them multiple times they are ready to purchase if they were just able to receive the minimal information they were requiring. But to have such a poor level of communication between a sales person and client, not being given promised information that was requested, having to call multiple times just to get in touch with a manager then being told I either need $2,000 to put down as a deposit, which still baffles me, and then only being given an out the door price on the vehicle as a solution? I can not say I’ve seen such unorganized chaos in such a short amount of time from a dealership that seems to hold themselves reputable. I do not recommend anyone visit this dealership if they expect good customer service and an easy transaction. More
