Mercedes symbolizes not only luxury and safety in their products, but also an exceptionally high-level of customer service to boot, making the car buying process smooth and simple. Stay Far Away from W.I. Simonson Mercedes Benz I would stay as far away from these guys as possible. They are xxxxxxxx, scam artists, everything you could fear in a car salesperson. I walked in late one Sunday afternoon looking to make a deal on a C250 or an E350. I was promised by the sales person Hamlet Karapetian a car with all the electronics. I wanted, GPS rear camera, etc. After realizing there are no parking lines on the rear camera and the iPod can not be integrated into the music system I went to dealer. They explained to me that I did not get the full electronics package. Think about it, a Mercedes where you hit the curb because you can't see it, and a Mercedes where you can not integrate an iPod into the music system. Mercedes should be ashamed to make, let alone sell a car like this. I had a Volvo S60 that was way smarter than this, the seats adjusted when you got near the car, the doors open and I could attach my iPod, how amazing! When I went to close the deal, the finance guy Marc Rose told me he was going to throw in undercoating. I thought, how ridiculous, this is something you would get on the East Coast, not here, especially on a 3 year lease, who cares. Then he said he would thrown in the service plan for 3 years. Low and behold, he never did, he added it to the bottom line and kept telling how great it was that he gave me under coating! In the end their head of finance Lauren Castanos would do nothing about it. Please look at all the 1 stars these people are getting, it's a red flag. I would not be surprised if they are paying for the 5 stars. STAY AWAY, go to a real Mercedes dealer and don't buy the C250! -Michael G. More
simonson service is a dishonest operation my car is now 6 years old and there has literally not been one time that i have visited their service dept that they did not completely overcharge and my car is now 6 years old and there has literally not been one time that i have visited their service dept that they did not completely overcharge and try to rip me off. they appear very professional in their presentation but they not only overcharge by at least 50%, they also create things wrong with your car that are not even there. and their charges to get the SERVICE WARNING LIGHT off are just made up by them and the light comes on just for the sole purpose of them getting you into their service center and trying to convince you to pay for things that are completely unnecessary. you will notice a turnover in their staff at the service center because a person is either comfortable being a con or they aren't. i think there are those who leave bc they can't play the game of stealing from the trustworthy customer who just bought a car from them. i cannot wait to get rid of my mercedes for the sole reason of not having to deal with such slimy people ever again. they are a disgrace and should be ashamed to be a part of the santa monica community. Buyer Beware! Certified Pre-Owned review. We recently moved from PA to CA and wanted to purchase a MB-SUV. After talking to friends and neighbors in the area we were referred to WI Simonson MB -SM. My husband called and talked to Phillip about our interest in a 2012 certified, pre-owned GL450 with Package 2 options and DVD system. He said he had one in inventory. We decided to head over to the dealership with our 2.5 year old daughter to check out the car. Upon arrival to the dealership we were introduced to Eddie Saneto, who showed us the car and upon inspection we took the car out for a test drive. Eddie was polite but lacked significant knowledge about the car, in all aspects. He kept on saying that we can look it up in the manual! Our daughter loved the car. A week later, Sunday June 22, 2014 we decided we wanted to purchase this car. Together with our 2.5 year old daughter, we arrived at the dealeship at 2pm, Eddie met with us and after a very uncomfortable negotiation with Zia (a rough and unpleasant man), we agreed to the purchase price , we proceeded with the purchase of the vehicle (57K). We were introduced to Nick Fairchild, who upon looking at the details of the car and purchase infomation said that this car isn't ready for sale and to leave the lot since the 2 keys and DVD headsets were not available. He was reassured by Souharda Poudyal that that would not be a problem as they will be sent to us in 1-2 weeks. I know we should've walked away and we should've but we didn't because we liked the car as it was exactly what we had been looking for. Upon completing the purchase we were taken over by Souharda Poudyal, to the guest parking lot of the dealership where the GL450 was parked. We were handed 1 key, which was dirty and had stickers on it, and the remote control for the DVD which has some kind of syrup/glue dripped onto the buttons, we asked for the 2nd key and were told they didn't have it and that they would send it to us in 1-2 weeks. Upon inspecting the car again we noticed that the car mats were not placed and a large bleach stain was obvious and visible on the carpeting in the back. Apparently, they had conceiled this by placing a disposable cover when we initially saw the car and subsequently agreed to take it out on a test drive. At this point, my husband and I refused to accept the keys and left the car on the lot. Souharda Poudyal said well, you can't expect the car to be perfect, it is a used car afterall. We My husband and I were appaled by that response! By now we had been at the dealership for 6 hours. It was 830pm and dark. Imagine all this with a 2.5 year old and a dealership that decided to close down and abandon the lot/offices!!! My husband contacted Nick Fairchild on his cell phone to tell him what had transpired and that we were canceling our contract. So now, here we are in a dark parking lot on a Sunday evening with a lemon car and furious parents with a 2.5 year old daughter who is past her feeding and bedtime. This was supposed to be a happy occasion that was a nighmare to say the least. Nick apologized and understood and said he would refund the monies and cancel the contract first thing in the morning. We did appreciate his professionalism and honesty. In the morning the contract was canceled and we did receive an invoice for a full refund! There was no subsequent followup or apology by anyone at WI Simonson MB Santa Monica. We had actually purchased this car!!! They actually had the gall to send a customer service survey and to thank us for the purchase (a month later!). My husband and I will not be purchasing/leasing from this dealership or its brand WI Simonson (The philosophy of the company is poor and it looks to be a management/owner issue) and we hope that by sharing our story it may help others in deciding whether or not you want to build a relationship with the dysfunctional and deceptive staff and less than impressive fleet of cars in the pre-owned department at WI Simonson MB - SM! Dishonest, overpriced, untrustworthy. I'm NOT happy at all. Went in for one thing, they found 5 more that needs work, presenting me with $7k repair estimate on low mileage car. They greeted me with respect and kindness. Very helpful they told me what needed to be done with the car and I was very pleased with that. Also they found a ding on my car that I didn't even realize it had they told me what needed to be done with the car and I was very pleased with that. I'd been looking for a few months for a used 2012 Mercedes c250 coupe with little miles that was certified and still under warranty. As you could imagine, this was a difficult task, so as soon as I found one online listed at WI Simonson with only 6500 miles at an AMAZING price, I quickly called and spoke with Bill and made an appt to come in the next day. Bill is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. I test drove the car, fell in love on the spot and decided to buy it! I came in already financed, but they were able to find me a comparable loan with Wells Fargo, and as long as the rate and terms were the same, that was fine by me! The car had a few minor scratches on the bumper, not really a big deal but Bill and Dave worked to have the car touched up completely at no expense to me - it looks, feels and smells brand new. Even got a good deal on an extended warranty, taking my warranty to 2018! And because I decided not to trade in my other car that's already paid for, Bill and another staff member followed me home so that I could get my new and old car back to my place - talk about customer service! This by far has been one of the best car-buying experiences ever. I never once felt like I was getting a bad deal or being taken advantage of because I'm a woman! Everyone at WI Simonson has been kind and helpful, and Bill is a great guy! I would definitely recommend this dealer if you are looking for a hassle-free, honest and friendly car-buying experience! And make sure you ask for Bill Hagen!! More
