I came to the dealership with my own financing. I and my husband specifically asked the sales person NOT to run my credit rating because their inquiry alone would negatively affect my excellent rat I and my husband specifically asked the sales person NOT to run my credit rating because their inquiry alone would negatively affect my excellent rating. The credit manger tried to run my rating anyway and without my permission. After a heated discussion with the salesperson and the credit manager they refrained from checking my credit. This was an extremely stressful and unpleasant situation. I purchased the car anyway but knew I had been negatively discussed by the staff. The final financial employee noted that he had been forewarned about me and my husband and would not attempt to seek to access my credit rating. Please ask your staff NOT to run a credit rating on a potential buyer without their written permission. My excellent credit rating is the result of my lifelong effort to create a sound financial foundation for me and my family. The dealership’s treatment of me was dishonorable and disrespectful. I feel they took these liberties with me and my husband because we are an elderly Black woman and man. More
