We have taken very good care of our 2015 Honda Odyssey and had it serviced when it was scheduled and kept up on all maintenance. The check engine light came on and we were told we need to have the motor and had it serviced when it was scheduled and kept up on all maintenance. The check engine light came on and we were told we need to have the motor rebuilt on a van that we have had for 7 years. Also we dealt with the TPMS light coming on and requested to have it assessed and fixed by Waldorf Honda for over 2 years only to be told that it is a sensor malfunction that would cost a couple thousand to replace. This is unacceptable and very disappointing. People don’t spend $40,000 on a vehicle expecting to have to replace it after only 7 years. We purchased this vehicle because it was rated #1 for mini vans. Seven years…I question the quality of the Honda brand, vehicle and Honda Waldorf service department. 15 March 2023 Update: I received a call from Robin Stroud (service dept) this past Monday (13 March 2023) regarding the review I originally posted. She told me the review was seen as a negative reflection on herself. She also stated that we had been loyal customers by only having our vehicle serviced at Waldorf Honda for over 6 years. Based on our loyalty, Waldorf Honda would "in good faith" come up with an alternative solution that would "make this right". She also let me know that she had been in touch with the Service Director (Jason Ruslander) and the District Manager (Doug) who were aware of the situation and would determine the path forward to make this right. She did not call me back that day so I called Robin back on Tuesday (14 March 2023) after I received an email from Dealerrater stating, "Waldorf Honda has indicated that the have worked with you to resolve your issue." Well this was not the case because I had not heard back from nor spoken to any manager up to this point. In speaking with Robin again she said she would speak with the District Manager to determine next steps in getting our Honda Odyssey malfunction resolved. She also did not know why I would have received an email from Dealerrater stating that the issue had been resolved. I will provide an update once I hear back from Robin Stroud, Jason Ruslander or their District Manager, Doug. 28 March 2023: Update and Resolution I received a call from Jason Ruslander on 3/17/2023 regarding the Honda Odyssey. He was very professional and pleasant to speak with. He understood my frustration with the tatus of the Honda. He acknowledged us as being loyal customers in that we had taken good care of our vehicle and only had it serviced at Waldorf Honda. The “Good Faith Warranty” was explained to us. It was something we had never heard of before. Due to our loyalty (being serviced only by them), they absorbed the vast majority of the cost to get our vehicle repaired and back on the road. Lesson learned. For anyone out there reading this review, if you find yourself in a situation similar to this, you can go speak with the service manager or director to see if they can provide assistance. It is a perk to take your vehicle to its dealership rather than taking it to various places. I appreciate Jason Ruslander and Robin Stroud for their time, attention and understanding with our situation. We will continue to be loyal customers to Waldorf Honda and plan to purchase another Honda vehicle in the near future. More
