I never seem to get what I want or need from Walser. I feel rushed and shoved off just to get me to pay and leave. I expressed my strong dislike of the car they sold me a month or two ago, how horrible I feel rushed and shoved off just to get me to pay and leave. The alignments got done and run straight like an arrow, but the waiting times with appointment scheduled is the worst compared to other Toyota dealers. but the waiting times with appointment scheduled is the worst compared to other Toyota dealers. More
They tried to scam me out of over $1000. My A/C went out in my car and I was taking it in to get it fixed. I work in vehicle repair and knew what the problem was but have a warranty on my car so I needed a repair shop to get it in their system in order for my warranty company to cover it. They attempted to tell me a steel air conditioning line had rusted through on my vehicle that has less than 60,000 miles on it in order to charge me for a full line replacement, which conveniently would not be covered under my warranty. There is no rust on that line and it can take decades of heavy wear for this to happen, even in a climate like Minnesota’s. You can even see in their video sent by the technician there is no rust at all where they said it was rusted through. On top of this I know very well the price of the part they had claimed was needing to be replaced, and it was under $100. This would also take no more than an hour or two to replace, meaning they were going to be charging me around $1000/hr in labor. I asked if it was possibly just a seal at the end of the line that was leaking, which indeed it was, and the service advisor was adamant I was wrong so I paid $211 for Walser to do absolutely nothing but misdiagnose my car and I took it elsewhere. I explained the situation to the new shop, they actually listened to me, and replaced the leaking seal which solved my A/C problem and said they found no rust where Walser had claimed. While I know this is very common in this industry, my work repairs through contracts so we have no need to try to up-charge our customers or add repairs that are not needed so I am able to spot when a repair seems fishy. I’m assuming due to my age and appearance the service advisor didn’t think I knew what I was talking about, but I had the exact same position as him, only with much larger and more complex vehicles. I just feel terrible for the countless other customers that go through this shop not knowing what Walser is doing to them. There is either poor management or bad technicians in your shop and it was very disappointing to have to deal with this situation. They got $211 out of me that day, but won’t be getting another cent from me in the future as I will never go back and will be very outgoing in suggesting to my fellow Toyota owners to take their cars elsewhere. I apologize for the rant, and I’m sure there’s a chance this is a complete misunderstanding but from what I saw when I asked for the part number of the line that they wanted to replace I could tell they weren’t being completely honest with me. I’m not looking for anything out of this review other than to hopefully help others save some money and time in the future. More
Khalid A, was very helpful and knowledgeable. He listened to our concerns and answered all our questions. I would definitely recommend my friends and family members to Walser Toyota.
