Vehicles never done when promised. They simply will not even make an appointment for oil change services as they have to be first come first serve but never seem to be under an hour mark to even get in. They couldn't care less if you purchase a vehicle or anything after from them. Never again will I buy from them or refer friends or family to this dealer! More

Do not trust Westland Ford Sales or Service Westland Ford does not own up to their mistakes. The service department has horrible customer service. Do NOT buy a used car from Westland! We need Westland Ford does not own up to their mistakes. The service department has horrible customer service. Do NOT buy a used car from Westland! We needed an SUV with high towing capacity and Westland Ford had a Nissan Armada in our price range so we went to them. They told us it needed the front differential fixed and they wanted to get it all repaired and 'safe for our family' so we 'wouldn't have any worries'. They had it in the shop for a week and then we drove it home. The very first week we had it (March 2018) we noticed the exhaust was smoking when we started it. We asked our salesman about this and he said "it was normal for V8 engines with over 100,000 miles". We took it to our mechanic to be sure and he said it was burning oil and could need valve guides, rings, or maybe even a new engine; he advised us to take it back to our dealership to see if the work would be covered under our warranty. I called Westland to discuss the issue and they hadn't even submitted our paperwork to the warranty company. Donnie Gallagher urged me to bring it in so the service dept can look at it. I told him I was upset and he urged me to 'give them a chance'. Westland Service department put on a new gasket/guide free of charge and told us to give it a week to burn off the existing oil. After 1 1/2 weeks it was still smoking when we started the car so we called them back. Jim Twitchell told us we needed to bring it in about once a week for about 5 weeks to check oil consumption levels. I told him this was very inconvenient for us but he said they needed to do it this way to present the information to the warranty company. One of the times I took it in to check the oil level I was there for an hour and 50 minutes! Almost 2 hours to check the oil. Jim said the tech was running some other tests and looking into other things. I was there just to get the oil checked, nothing else. After bringing it in 4 times Jim said they had enough data to present to the warranty company- that he would call them and get back to me. When I hadn't heard from him for a few days I called him and he said yes, he had talked to the warranty company and 'they're pretty confident they won't pay for this issue'. If we had to pay for it on our own it would be up to $3,000. Here's my husband's and my thinking: if Westland had our car in their shop for a week they had to have noticed it was smoking upon ignition. So there we were: just took out a loan for $14,500 for our car and warranty, and then we'll have to pay another $3,000 for an existing issue. We explained our frustrations to them, that we felt cheated and they had sold us a bad car. The salesman who sold us the car doesn't work for Westland anymore so we talked to Mike Russo. Mike, after looking into the situation, offered us 2 hours of free labor in the service department to try to figure out exactly why our car was burning oil. He and Christopher made me an appointment for the next Monday. I bring in the car at the appointed time and Jim Twitchell has no idea what's going on- says the others guys made the appointment under his name and didn't tell him anything about it. Jim doesn't think 2 hours is long enough. I try to explain all of this to him but he won't listen, won't let me finish my sentences, and talks down to me. He was so condescending! He used phrases like, "Bottom line is this is your problem because I own my car and you own yours". It was the worst customer service I'd ever experienced! I left there feeling unheard, unimportant, and outraged. After 4 hours Jim finally called back to tell me it was either broken rings OR worn rings, they weren't sure which. If the rings were worn our warranty definitely wouldn't pay for it, and if the rings were broken our warranty MAY pay for it but there's no guarantees. We talked to Mike again and told him how unhappy we were and asked what our options were. He said we could trade our car in for something else or see if they warranty company will pay. At this point we didn't trust Westland anymore. They had strung us along for 4 months and we weren't getting anywhere. Even if we did trade our car in for something else, how could we know if it was a reliable car? They had already sold us a car that was burning oil; what would we get next...? He claimed they don't have the resources to go through every used car with a fine tooth comb so they can't see every problem. We asked if we could just get a refund and Mike said they would buy the car back for $7,000. Really?! $7,000 for a $14,000 car?? We submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and Westland replied that we were "picky customers because we would only accept certain vehicles". The only reason we went to Westland in the first place is because they had the SUV with the towing capacity we needed that was in our price range. Apparently Westland Sales thinks it's wrong if a customer knows what he/she wants. Conclusion: The sales and service departments at Westland Ford don't care about their customers because they don't answer the phone, they don't return calls, they are rude and deceitful. If you are buying a used car and want to avoid months of headache, lies, and being talked down to AVOID WESTLAND FORD. More
