Fixed right the first time! I brought our 2014 MDX in for a “shudder” at 35-40 mph. Reading a little online there was a TSB for this MDX that recommended flushing the transmissio I brought our 2014 MDX in for a “shudder” at 35-40 mph. Reading a little online there was a TSB for this MDX that recommended flushing the transmission and re-flashing the transmission. After talking with another Acura dealership first and describing the problem I was told that rarely fixes the issue and I would most likely need to replace the torque converter. The vehicle was still covered under factory warranty and I was told by the first dealer this service would not be covered! Hearing that I said I will take the car to someone else. Insert White Bear Acura Subaru, called, described the problem, scheduled an appointment, dropped the vehicle off the next day. I met James (service writer) the next day, described the problem and he knew exactly what I was talking about. He had the same treatment for the vehicle flush and flash the transmission. He said if that did not fix it then the torque converter would be next. Then he told me EVERYTHING would be covered under the warranty! Got a phone in the afternoon saying the flush and flash took care of it and the vehicle was ready to be picked up. 1000 miles later car still has no signs of the previous “shutter”. Fixed it right the first time! And covered under warranty! More

Seth made the process as mellow and friendly as I could have wanted. He applied precisely zero pressure, took all the time I needed, answered all my dumb questions without laughing, and made me feel great about the decision. He even drove me to a Ford dealership and helped me through my lease return -- above and beyond. And Landon is exactly the kind of trustworthy and funny guy you want around when you are writing a very, very large check. In that time there's been enough turnover in the sales force: Scott sold us our last two cars because the original salesman is gone. Same with the Finance Dept: Landon replaced Mike but both have been a joy to work with. The person who deserves most of the credit here is Sam, the Sales Manager. I want to talk about a quality not often found in sales: compassion and empathy. It was Sam who made the sale happen, and it happened because of those two qualities that are so apparent in Sam. It wasn't just making the numbers work, it wasn't just his charm - everybody at his level has that. It was his heart. I do not give praise lightly & I seldom praise. Thank you, Sam. Truly, thank you. Lackluster and overpriced First, I think the policy of charging $155 just to find out what is wrong with your vehicle is asinine. I guess when you charge twice as much compared to other mechanics to service a car, you need to get the money wherever you can. I can’t tell you how disappointed I am with the performance of my 2012 Subaru Outback which I purchased in 2013. Starting with water leaks when it rained, to a failed head gasket, to wheel bearings, and several sensor failures, we have incurred over $6,000 in repairs on this so-called reliable car. I plan to tell everyone and anyone I know what terrible cars you sell and service. Craig Rousar More
