I went to discuss financing with the manager (who I believe is named Chi Vang,** although I am not sure since he scribbled his signature- he stated he did not work in the Acura department). When I entered his office, he tells me I was not approved for the loan because of the age of the car. I asked him to elaborate, and he said that "I was a bit young" - no mention of my credit score or a negotiation of down payment/interest or cosigner, apparently ageism exists at this dealership. I had already received a loan through my bank, so I was still set to buy the car (which was perhaps my first mistake, as he knew that I was still able to buy the car). This was my first time purchasing a vehicle through a dealership, so I was new to the process and did not have anyone experienced with me. After signing multiple documents, it appeared I was set to go. Only afterward did I realize he deliberately did not give me copies of all the documents, and of the two he did give me he "failed" to sign one. Before closing the deal, it appeared they had put the wrong sticker on the car which said I would receive a 60 day powertrain warranty and 30 day all other parts warranty. After calling another manager, it was agreed they would honor the deal. The next day, around 1pm, I was notified that I had to put down a deposit or the car "could be sold out underneath me". I was at work at this point, and not able to call. After discovering this, I planned to go to the dealership that night to drop off a check and get a receipt. I told them I would call after work at 6:30pm to discuss this. I get a text around 5:30pm saying another salesperson sold the corolla, but the buyers were still in financing. Extremely confused, I asked my supervisor to be allowed to make a call. I called and said I can give them the deposit immediately by card over the phone. I was told that I cannot do that, as the other person right now was in financing for the car. I told him that I had been in financing for it last night, well before the person financing for it right now! I asked them to talk to their manager (Ronnie Blair) and tell them it had been sold. They kept telling me they couldn’t do that, appearing to have been on orders from the manager who had told them to sell the car if it doesn’t have a deposit (which nobody told me about a deposit the night I viewed the car and signed the documents!). I now realize it was a sham from the beginning - not getting copies of the documents, not having the manager at the time sign the documents, and not being told until right before the car was “sold underneath me” that I needed to put a deposit down. Especially after they realized they made a mistake about the warranty of the car, I am sure they were eager to sell it to someone else. I would not be surprised if there is something extremely wrong with the car, and that is why they were eager to pull a stunt like this. I hope the person who bought the car is not unpleasantly surprised by their new vehicle (as I assume they changed the warranty sticker after I left). They also screwed their own employee out of commission, since they sold it via a different salesperson. Great team at this dealership. After this experience, I will not ever be going through a Luther dealership. If you are looking to purchase a vehicle, I would avoid this dealership altogether. If you feel this is your best bet, please be extremely wary and on the lookout for scams. More

Listening closely to our needs and finding solutions to put us in the best vehicle to fit us. We got everything exactly as we wanted it and Scott kept us in the loop on delivery times and setting up the best scenario for us to pick up our vehicle. Karl Gunderson our financial assistant was amazing as well. The whole procedure was prepared ahead of time and came off completely painless. We never felt pressured at any time in any of our experiences. And were made to feel as much at home as possible. Everyone there was courteous and more than willing to help even if we were currently working with another person, and were just waiting for something/someone or even just needing directions to the laboratory. We will definitely return to White Bear Subaru with our future auto business. Thanks everyone for making it a great deal! More

Went above and beyond our expectations! I am a recent college grad and decided to lease instead of buying a used car because I wanted the reassurance of knowing that the car had a full warranty. Being a recent college grad, I do not have to money to fix my car if something breaks down. So I started my search for an affordable, but reliable car on Saturday, the 29th. The date is important because it was the last Saturday of the month, and most salesmen are overly motivated to sell you a car. I started my search at the Hyundai dealership. My parents and I test drove the most basic 2017 Elantra they had. I personally was not totally impressed, but they gave us a good price. We told them that we had not received an insurance check and were just looking to get an idea of what we wanted. We had the most difficult time trying to leave the dealership and their haggling left a bad taste in our mouth. Our next stop was Luther Subaru to look at the 2017 Legacy. We told the Ahmed our price range and he said while he could not get something in our range, he would try very hard to come as close as possible. We then talked to Sam and I'm not kidding when I say that I was sold on the Legacy before I even test drove the car. We felt no haggle at all and they completely understood that today might not be the day to buy a car. He told us about Subaru's amazing safety reputation, resale value and most importantly, all wheel drive on ALL of their vehicles. The most important thing you can have in a Minnesota winter. We test drove the car and were 100% sold. I decided that even though it was a little out of my price range, it is totally worth it to know that I have such a safe, reliable car on my hands. Trust me when I say that when you walk into Luther Subaru in White Bear Lake, you are going to be receive the best service of any of the dealerships off of Highway 61. I am extremely happy that my first leased car is from them. More

Jordan was very friendly and appreciated the car wash. On another note, our vehicles are getting older and I was looking at vehicles - nobody approached me - not in the lot or inside. There were many men around. I don't know if it could be I'm not a man, but was disappointed. Would have liked to have asked about your used inventory. Another older gentleman stood next to the new vehicles inside and was looking around like "Isn't anybody going to talk to me." Here's a tip - to sell a car, you have to ask someone if they're interested in one. What a missed opportunity that nobody engaged either of us inside. Kudos to the Service but if this is sales too, it doesn't show. I bet you didn't sell much that day since employees only talked to each other. More

I noticed a severe problem as soon as my vehicle was returned, drove around the building right back into service. At that point service representative Luke yelled at me, told me there was no possible way that they could have done that, and that he was the expert because he drives these cars every day. I drive *my* car every day. Although the service manager Donovan agreed to look at it the next day the problem still exists (at least he didn't accuse me of lying like Luke.) I understand accidents happen and things can break, but refusing to take responsibility and yelling at your customers is so far below the expectation I have of a luxury car dealership as to be laughable. I would take my vehicle anywhere before being serviced there again. More
