Kevin, for the most part, was a good salesman. Really slow to respond to texts, but this is a seller's market, so he didn't have to go above and beyond anything to get the sale. Still, seemed like a nice guy, I would work with him again. The dealership, however, was a completely different experience. Absolutely horrible is the phrase that comes to mind, even 6-7 weeks after I took delivery. First of all, they did not keep me updated on the arrival of my vehicle. I was buying new and knew it was on a ship heading to the west coast even as I was putting a down payment on it. This is certainly part of the salesman's duties (and he told us as much the very first day I was there), this is partly why he didn't get 5 stars. Second, When the car finally arrived (a week later than expected) I was rushed to get to the dealership so they could clear the lot, I guess. Haven't heard anything about the car for a month and now that it's here it's a rush to get it off the lot?? Third, My experience the day I finally got my car was abysmal. There’s just no other way to put it. I made no bones about paying cash as well as having a trade-in vehicle. It took them no more than 25 minutes after I arrived to check out my trade-in (thanks for parking it back where we could see it). Yet I sat at the dealership for over 3 (THREE!!!) hours. Why? Good question that I STILL do not have an answer for. I was paying cash, no financing and playing BS games about rates and monthly payments. The only thing I needed was a title and plate transfer which can both be done online (and if it can't, please step up and join the 21st century with the rest of us) and it took THREE HOURS. So long that the manager of the dealership actually stopped by to check on us. Absolutely ridiculous. So much so that I was ready to walk out and forfeit the down-payment I made 2 months ago. Fourth, I was told that (by the financial guy) that even though they couldn't transfer tags to the state I live in, the title transfer paperwork would arrive at my home address within a week of my check clearing the bank. This was on Monday, Jan 1. By Wed, Jan 2, my check for my new car had cleared by my bank. The 21st Century is really great for stuff like this! However, when I was home the following week (Jan 8th), no paperwork for the license branch to issue plates! Finally, on Wed Jan 10th, I couldn't wait any longer, as I had to be back at my job 600 miles away early Monday morning. I called my salesman who, unsurprisingly, was not available. After being on hold for a long "few minutes ", I asked for the finance manager. After another round of interminable holds (15 minutes or so), the finance guy gets on the phone. It’s the same guy that kept us waiting for 3 hours AND promised me title transfer paperwork within a week. After offering proof of my check clearing my bank 8 days ago, they suddenly found the promised paperwork in some bin or tray and promised to overnight it to me the next day. This, they actually kept their word about. Thursday morning I had a text and picture of the receipt from Kevin. And was able to put plates on my car that Friday. So stressful. Not how buying a new vehicle should be! I drove my previous vehicle until I had saved enough for a new one (13 years) and this was an absolutely dreadful experience I hope not to repeat any time soon. More
