We have a Honda for the first time ever -- a great used Civic Hybrid. The check engine light was coming on and we had it evaluated with our local (Bluffton) mechanic. He reset it because that hadn't been done after a recent oil change and the code was not making sense. After a few days the light returned and he said we'd need to go to a dealer. I work in Findlay and have not had good experience with the dealer there, so we chose AK in Lima. First go 'round indicated a software upgrade and we did this, but after a few days the light came on again. They got it right in, in spite of the upcoming holiday week and evaluated it again -- needed a new IMA battery. YIKES!! We thought we'd be facing thousands of dollars of repair or perhaps a new car. The new battery was covered under the warranty and this was honored by your service dept. I have to say that during the 2 week conversation and car in & out, everyone was courteous in the face of bad weather, holiday frenzy, and accommodating my work schedule that doesn't lend itself to being in Lima. I did give Friendliness a 4 because in one early conversation the person I was speaking with had a brief tone of voice that sounded like, "Oh, this is a woman who doesn't know what she's talking about" and asked me if I was sure it was the check engine light -- This was after I'd said we'd had it evaluated and reset locally. I do understand the need to ask clarifying questions of this nature, but this one sounded demeaning in tone. If he'd asked, "Tell me what you did after that light came on the first time" I'd have said, stopped the car, got out the manual, evaluated the indicator light, opened and closed the gas cap, determined that it could be the extremely cold weather, and drove home. Then waited to see if it was there the next morning and it was. I call Gary Kirtland and took it to him immediately because the initial code indicated a need for a tire rotation which we'd had done recently. I knew something else was wrong. This question would have given him more helpful information than my answer, "It is the little light that is shaped like an engine" and his response, "Oh, that's it. You need to bring it in." (Yep, I knew that, because that was my reason for calling in the first place.) Thanks for your great work! More

This visit was for a safety recall. Service is always consistent - this time was particularly busy! I appreciate the courtesy shuttle to the mall since the mechanic needed several hours to complete the consistent - this time was particularly busy! I appreciate that every time I come in for service, my salesman Josh Gould comes to see how I am doing with my 4Runner. The service department makes sure that they keep me updated on the services my vehicle is due for and what they find during the appt do I can keep my vehicle in top condition as I use it to travel long distances pulling a trailer alone. I am always greeted with friendly faces. They never move my seat which I request as I hate to have to readjust everything when I get service while I am away from home. You cannot get better service than from Allan Knott Toyota!! More

Since we were getting a hitch installed and pinstripes put on our minivan, our scheduled service appt was going to take quite a while. A very nice gentleman gave my 2 little girls an activity pack which put on our minivan, our scheduled service appt was going to take quite a while. A very nice gentleman gave my 2 little girls an activity pack which they were thrilled with. They also provided free complementary transportation to a local mall for the 4 hour long appt. I can't tell you how the hitch works yet, b/c we haven't used it, but I'm a little suspect about how well the pinstripes are going to hold up as the ending of the one did not look fully adhered when I got home that day. Overall a B+ More
I was very pleased that Honda honored the warranty on the IMA battery even though it had already expired. At first, I thought that I would have to pay the entire cost of the repair. Overall the experience is positive. However on this trip the part needed was not in stock after I was told on the phone prior to bringing the car in that it was. Price of oil change had nearly doubled since last time so will not be having the service department do that any longer. More
