I would recommend avoiding this dealership for anything related to repairs or service. Their communication is both sparse and impolite and they never seemed to have a plan for actually resolving our car's More

Kelly , We’re sorry to hear you were disappointed, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify the situation. Timeliness of communication: There was no delay in notifying you about the findings on the courtesy vehicle. You were contacted promptly following our standard post‑return inspection. Loaner responsibility: As outlined in the courtesy vehicle agreement you signed, guests are responsible for any damage that occurs while the vehicle is in their possession. This policy is standard for all loaner and rental vehicles and is applied consistently. Documentation shared: We provided photos of the damage to both you and the insurance company to ensure full transparency regarding the claim. Deductible and insurance claim: Because the damage was identified during your use period, the insurance deductible and claim were processed in accordance with the signed agreement and standard liability procedures. We understand you disagree with this outcome, but we do have an obligation to follow the same policy for all customers. Steve Foresta Operations Manager

We’ve completed the diagnosis on your vehicle, and the issue you’re experiencing is due to a faulty oil pressure switch. This is a component failure within the vehicle itself and not the result of any work performed by our dealership.

Zakk507 responded

Your diagnosis is both incomplete and incorrect. The oil pressure switch is not the source of the oil leak. The oil housing had TWO wrong-sized bolts (of four total) installed when the engine was replaced, resulting in stripped threads in the engine block, which is now causing a leak. Had your technician actually done a thorough and proper inspection, he would have found that. Now the dealership is refusing to own up to their mistake and correct the problem.

Wilkins Hyundai responded

That is incorrect. We installed the complete Hyundai engine that was supplied to us, and the installation was performed properly. We attempted to show and you refused to understand that the only leak present was from the oil pressure switch. That component is not covered, as your vehicle is over 100,000 miles. This issue is unrelated to the engine installation. Steve Foresta Operations Manager

Zakk507 responded

Your synopsis is incorrect. If the installation of the engine and related parts was done properly there would not be an oil leak at this time, only 25000 miles into a brand new engine. You are still claiming the oil pressure switch is the source of the leak, which is also incorrect. The leak is due to the incorrect oil housing bolts that were installed and stripped the threads in the engine block. That WAS done when the engine was put together, at 85000 miles and 15 months before the warranty expired, when the original engine failed. I understand it’s difficult to admit your mechanic made an error but you should do the right thing and correct your mistake. You are making your dealership and the Hyundai brand look bad, as well as unprofessional.
