Good Morning Norm, I see you visited our Service Department yesterday on 12/30/22 and the last time you visited our Sales Department was almost one year ago on 1/14/22. Thank you for your continued business through the years Norm. It seems you have some confusion on our personnel. I am the GM/VP and based on my specific job duties, it would be extremely rare for me to be personally involved with any customer working a car deal. And a Sales Rep wouldn't come into my office since they work directly with their Sales Managers. I also do not recall this situation as I remember your name from your 2019 Tacoma purchase. I am sorry you didn't have a good experience with one of our Managers Norm. Though I have to say, a few additional items are also not adding up from your review. Since you last visited in January, our notes show you were trying to purchase a 2022 Tacoma, not a 2023 model. Also, I just listened to a quality control phone recording between you and our Sales Associate Nate. Nate called asking about your Tacoma and if we could help. You then said no and mentioned, "I am not a Toyota fan." You also added that you would be trading your Tacoma in on a different brand. This leads me to be confused on why you mentioned being interested in trading your 2019 Tacoma in on a new same model 2022 if you aren't a Toyota fan Norm. When it comes to your service visit yesterday, I am sorry when you picked up your vehicle you found dirty boot prints. This is not our standard. It has been raining often the past few days and my Lube Technicians need to be more conscientious of wiping off their feet and bringing a rag with them when they park customers cars. I will address this first thing Monday morning with my Service Team so they can learn and be better in the future Norm. As you mentioned not giving us your tire key lock so you knew we could not have rotated your tires, this is not true. Our Service Technicians not only have the generic Toyota key that works for all Toyota products, but they also have approximately eight aftermarket keys that fit the vast majority of aftermarket locks. I pulled your service ticket as well and it did confirm a tire rotation was completed. Though if you would like to be even more certain, please feel free to stop by anytime and we can measure for you to prove we did rotate the tires. In the small odds that we did not, then we will be happy to rotate them for you and quickly get you on your way. Take care Norm. Regards, Hank Wills General Manager/VP

Good Evening Brandon, I am sorry you have had a few unpredictable issues come up on an older high mileage truck that you purchased from us six months ago. Unfortunately, 12 year old vehicles with over 100k miles typically will have issues at some point. Which is why they are priced accordingly and much less than a newer vehicle. I see that you made the drive from another state and three hours away. This leads me to believe you felt our price was a good one and that you also did a decent amount of research on this specific model before making such a long drive. I also reviewed your paperwork and see you signed an "As-Is" Buyer's Guide when you purchased this vehicle. We did our due diligence by spending over $2,100 between service and detail work on this truck after we took it in trade and before it was available for sale. Automobiles are like humans in the fact that we all know someone who visited a Doctor and everything checked out fine. And then two weeks later, that person gets really sick with an unpredictable health issue randomly happening to them. Once again, I am sorry that this same thing happened to the truck you purchased Brianne. We appreciate your business and wish you the best of luck moving forward. Hi Hank, I appreciate a response. Now don’t get me wrong I understood the risks of a used vehicle and I should have expected coldness from the used car dealer. Anyways. I have accepted the truck as is. But the fact that there wasn’t a key cut for the door to manually unlock it is a little ridiculous and inconsiderate to take advantage of people in that way. I have to get into the truck to fix and I was locked out of it for a few hours due to not having a key.

Hello Tim, As you know, the appraisal value on your trade was completed before any pictures were seen as you don't live in the Twin Falls area. Once pictures were opened at a later date and we saw your bumper was in rough shape needing replaced, we then attained a quote of $1,200 passing along your new, accurate and fair trade value. From the beginning you were made aware and agreed that your final trade value would be based on a subject to see in-person appraisal. Which is how 100% of car dealerships operate as you mentioned as well. Since there were no notes or details from us to fix an unsalvageable bumper on the original appraisal, it is fair to assume when you arrived in person you would expect for us to have to account for a $1,200 fix. You are correct, I took the time to send you a long and detailed email explaining our internal processes and the specifics of your potential transaction. Which you then replied to thanking me for my empathy and mentioning that you appreciated my email. You were not ignored by any means. I did my due diligence taking the time to get advice from other Toyota GM's before making my decision. Which means this is how this situation is handled at the vast majority of dealerships and in fact, very professional. Hank, I am sorry. You are dead wrong. You only feigned concern in your response to me then had your salesman relay the message that you would not be selling the vehicle to me. You did not find it worth your time to call me the first time and then it wasn't worth your time to send a reasonable reply the second. Had you truly taken ownership and were truly concerned that would not have happened. I have worked in Lexus dealerships for many of my younger years and I assure this is not how it is done in properly run dealerships. When a customer wants to speak with you, you should make time. When you make a mistake you own it, you do not use it as a ploy to "steal their trade" the day of the transaction. When your team makes a mistake you make it right by the customer not just feign concern than pass them off. Please when you make a decision stop trying to validate it with fake conversations with other GMs. This whole feigned interaction has been quite sad to watch come together. Make a decision and stand by it, value your customers especially when they rightfully point out your team dropped the ball, be a Man and have a professional conversation with that upset customer, and never avoid a customer and pan it off on your sales people. As I stated BUYER BEWARE Especially if they have a trade or valid complaint.
