Hi Kelli, Tire rotation and multipoint inspection are a part of the oil change package; tire balance is not. Most vehicles rarely need additional tire rebalancing, so it is a separate service. Tire balance vs. tire rotation is an important distinction because, if when arriving to service your front tires were in balance, you would not feel a vibration in your steering wheel. But, if the rear tires were out of balance you would not notice the issue until they were rotated to the front, which is what happened here. The turn signal is a concern because they may be a wiring or connector issue that we would have to look further into. Please let us know when it’s convenient for you and we’ll take another look. We're sorry we didn't deliver a first-class experience on this trip and hope to do better for you in the future.

I shouldn’t bring my car in without a particular problem and leave with a needed service that you are charging additional for. Your response is xxxxxxxx.

Wilsonville Toyota responded

We understand your perspective completely and we're sorry we did anything to make you believe that we'd take advantage of your trust. We respect our customers and our place in the community, and we'd never - under any circumstances - engage in any behavior that would cause additional problems with your vehicle. It is a common occurrence for vehicle maintenance to reveal potential issues. It's part of the reason we do it, to catch small issues before they become big ones. Eventually an out-of-balance condition will prematurely wear your tires to the point of replacement. Balancing is small, replacement is big. Your vehicle did have a problem when it came in: The rear tires were out of balance. That condition was realized when the vehicle was driven after the tires were rotated to the front. It's not expected that you would have noticed it when they were on the rear. It's part of the reason tire rotation is mandated by your vehicle's manufacturer. We performed your requested service and that simply made the out-of-balance condition noticeable. We would be happy to work with you to correct this problem.
