Shady dealers, bad mechanics I went to Wiz to look at three cars they had listed online. One of the cars wasn't even on the lot (they said that they sold it that morning), one had I went to Wiz to look at three cars they had listed online. One of the cars wasn't even on the lot (they said that they sold it that morning), one had a shoddy interior (not their fault), but I test drove the third and was interested in buying it. Hector Diaz, the dealer I was working with, went on and on about how great their mechanics were and how the car was in top shape -including new tires. After taking the car to my mechanic, I found out the 2 driver's side tires were "pretty bald". They were also a different brand than the passenger side tires, which were a cheap brand called Antares. The passenger side tires were also mounted backwards. Additionally, there was an oil leak behind the timing cover, which would require pulling the engine (about 20 hours of labor). The mechanic said the car was a lemon and not to buy it. Clearly, I had been lied to by Hector. Due to the litany of mechanical issues, I informed Hector that I wouldn't be purchasing the car and asked for my $500 deposit to be refunded. He said it was his day off (I guess his work phone is also is cell phone?), but he would put the refund through the next day. He never did, so I had to call him again. Second time was the same story: It was his day off so he would put the refund through the next day. I waited another week and had to call him a third time, with the same story once more. I was polite about the whole situation even though it had been weeks without getting my money back (a great inconvenience when I needed the money to purchase a car), but Hector rudely said that it was my fault for not following up. I really don't need to be insulted by someone who's been withholding my $500 for a month. I wouldn't have taken the time to write this review if Hector hadn't been rude to me concerning the refund. I've dealt with bad mechanics, but adding a shady dealer makes me never want to even think about Wiz again. Do not shop here. Take your business to one of the other dozens of dealers in Fairfield County. UPDATED: The owner of the dealership has since contacted me and apologized for my experience. He also reprimanded the salesman I worked with. While he didn't address the poor worksmanship of the mechanics, I greatly appreciate the fact that the owner expressed remorse over my bad experience. As such, I've given an additional star to my overall rating. More
