This is follow up to my review on 3/22. i have come to the conclusion that the General Manager (Mark Capozza) is not a standup guy and it is no surprise to me that his team acts poorly - the behavior is a reflection of its leadership. Mark and his team first tried to talk me in to an unneeded part replacement (charcoal canister) at a cost of $1300 before honoring to replace the failed component (air pump switching valve) which is covered under an extended warranty; stating it was corporate policy to do so. I opened a claim with Toyota corporate and they said there was no such policy and would contact the dealership on my behalf. Over a three week period, Mark and his team avoided calls from corporate and myself to resolve this misunderstanding in process. After continued pressure from corperate, Mark agreed to have his best technician look at it. On the second look, they agreed that charcoal canister was not at fault but would not support the warranty claim because moisture wasn't present and suggested I should pay $575. Also, no apology for trying to talk me in to an unneeded repair at a cost of $1300. Again, corporate had to get involved and they said there was no such policy that moisture had to be present. Further more, any moisture that was likely present over a month ago when it failed was likely gone and not found by World because they were trying to upsell me to replace a working component. Again, corporate has been trying to get World to honor the extended warranty on a known faulty EVAC system and yet they continue to duck and dodge phone calls. Corporate is now suggesting and helping to arrange this repair at an alternate dealership due to a lack of cooperation from World Toyota. There is no explanation to support Mark's behavior other than his team tried to hit a home run off my repair and got caught in the act. I have filed a Complaints with the BBB and the EPA as they are trying to use government required emissions to their financial advantage. Avoid this dealership at all cost.
