Also I met with Gerald the service manager, who is an awesome service manager and great gentleman. They both treated me like family and took care of my car AND SAVED me a lot of money. They really SAVED me a lot of money. And I was very happy with the work that was done on my car; I almost did not recognize it.

Steve Johnson was very patient and I’m so happy he was the one who responded to my email inquiry about a vehicle I was potentially interested in. He is knowledgeable about the vehicles and was able to answer any questions I had. I had to return later in the evening to finalize paperwork and he personally went to pick up my new car from a sister property which potentially made him miss out on helping another customer. The sales manager, Kyle is very approachable and easy to talk to. After some friendly negotiating we agreed on a deal I’m happy with. The finance manager, Shloma was also great and really took his time to explain everything to my satisfaction. I was met by a smile from everyone I came in contact with at this dealership. No issues with actual service. Rather, a caveat emptor. Each visit seems to illicit a list of items that need to be fixed in addition to what the specific visit is for and at exorbitant quoted costs. Yesterday, I came to have a recalled item repaired, and the same 'ole routine progressed with the list of other items I should consider (interestingly, I listened as the parts people came out for each customer, as their cars were serviced, with the same routine and quotes of "you'll get ticketed for that!")...the reality is: you can fix most items on your own, and if not, save a huge percentage by not having dealerships complete the tasks. In yesterday's case, the quoted prices for additional items were $70 for an item that I completed for 10.09 and $17 for an item I completed for 5.99; their price was 544% of what I paid and by the way, it took me maybe 5 minutes to complete both tasks. Caveat Emptor - don't be had.

I have been purchasing vehicles for close to 30 years, and I must say, this was about the best experience I have had yet. I was not planning on purchasing a new car, however, after talking to James at Duncan, I realized it would be better for me to purchase a new car.
My daughter had a 2007 Hyundai Elantra and it was totaled due to a crash the week before. I had purchased that car used less than 2 years ago and had bought an extended warranty on it. After shopping around for a used car comparable to that car, it was going to cost too much and did not make sense, when I could get a new car that will be warrantied and more reliable.
James was so helpful in showing my daughter all the bells and whistles on the car. He made our experience so much nicer by taking the time to help us learn the car instead of "pushing the car down our throats." He let us look on the lot without trying to hover over us. He was very knowledgeable about the car. Due to me having to wait on a check from Erie Insurance to cover the totaled car, I was unable to give the $5,000 down payment. James informed me it would be okay to purchase the car that day and bring the down payment back a few days later. He made sure the car was full of gas and cleaned before we took it home that day.
I am definitely going back to Duncan if I ever need to purchase another vehicle.
Matt was very courteous and came over and talked with my daughter and I, while we were waiting for the paperwork to process. We enjoyed listening to Matt's stories about past customer experiences. Back in 2005 I purchased a 2005 Hyundai Tucson and was very satisfied with sales and service at that time. Through 2005 and 2017 My Tucson gave me great reliability! Now that it's 2017, I've just purchased a 2017 Hyundai Tucson, Sales experience at this dealership again was top notch, I expect the service department will meet my expectations and I'm very comfortable that again I purchased a very, very reliable vehicle.
GOOD SALES, HORRIBLE SERVICE - Jerry
Sales was very good. Jim Burke very knowledgeable and helpful, ...5 stars. The service department is the worst I have every been to (and I am 70 yrs. old so I have been to many). Have taken my car there 4 times and it has been a disaster every time! I have an Azera and a Genesis. I am suppose to get free maintenance on the Genesis but it takes all day to get my free oil change, 3 days to schedule a check engine light (went to Hall Hyundai and they did it in 10 minutes for me). Took my 160,000 mile Azera in for a recall item so I figured I'd get it inspected, and the oil changed. Signed up for one of their on-line specials 2 months before my appointment and then after I leave the car they tell me it was 'a clerical error' and they wouldn't honor it. But they did start the work and wanted me to pay for what they had done, a $89 synthetic oil change and the 64 or something point inspection. They then tell me my car failed inspection due to bad suspension (cracked bushings). So it takes 6 hours for me to get my car after they only did an inspection oil change and the 20 minute relay install. I went into the work area and there is only one other car in there (at noon time) besides mine. They tell me I also need another $600 worth of stuff, like oil leak but they can't show me the oil leaking. I took my car down the road to the service place I take 2 of my cars and they showed me that the "cracked bearings" were just a hard line of dirty grease. They wiped it with cleaner and 'presto', the crack was gone and my car passed inspection. Williamsburg Hyundai service is shady at the least, and how they keep that rude Jon guy is beyond me. I have seen him being rude to other customers also. I suspect the 5 stars they are getting are from family and friends. For me, I am done with Williamsburg Hyundai, I'll skip the so called 'free service' on my Genesis and will happily pay for it and get my inspection, oil change, and tires rotated in one hour. Needless to say, these very poor experiences at Williamsburg Hyundai and with their service manager Jon are a major factor in my search for a new car, to replace my Azera.

I bought my first new car from here about 5 years ago and had been extremely happy with every part of this dealership until the past 3 months. I now have a completely different point of view of this dealership and will NEVER buy or recommend this dealership to ANYBODY. My 2013 Sonata has had SEVERAL recalls and the dealerships HAD been very helpful until recently. I have no idea what management changes have happened- but they are horrible.
I have been doing an oil consumption test, which is beyond annoying and very difficult to do when you are a single parent who works long hours. Nonetheless on my THIRD test, my car completely stopped working. It shut down on me when driving. Talk about scary, thankfully my son was not with me. Tht evening I spent THREE hours trying to get my car towed and had to use my own resources.
I had to manage to FIND a ride home yesterday, a way to work this morning & a way to get my son from school and back home today. Talk to about difficult. Just for the service writers to tell me that they MAY have a rental for me on MONDAY afternoon! I completely understand that my claim has to go through warranty, but I should be able to have a loaner vehicle. Isn’t that the point of loaner cars, to help out your customers when a car has a warranty problem? Why am I having to pay out of pocket when they sold me a car with a bad engine? What ever happened to customer service? I have worked at a dealership and I have never ever heard of a company doing what they are currently doing. Just expecting a person to be without a car for over 3 days. It wouldn’t be so difficult if I wasn’t a single parent who has someone depending on me. I just don’t understand.

Purchasing my new Veloster was not planned, surprisingly while I had an appt for service that morning, Mr Mo Basri approached me asked about my soon to be traded Elantra 08. However, I have enjoyed talking to my sales person and showed me the veloster, I instantly loved it. He is truly a gentlemen of his words and delivered beyond anybody else I have ever met and that alone restored my trust back to purchase a new car and deal with Pearson Hyundai. True story: **This is for Fredericksburg, Virginia Hyundai** We are buying a new vehicle and *solely* because of poor service at Pohanka Hyundai, we will not get another Hyundai. We have had to take our vehicle there a half dozen times (for repeat problem). Each time we find poor communication and high prices but most importantly, they telegraph very clearly that they literally could not care less about fixing your car. They don't care about when they fix it, about what's wrong with it, about communicating timing --or anything else. Over the phone it sounds like they are moving with the urgency and speed of molasses on a cold winter day. This is the only Hyundai dealer available in our area and we cannot bear the thought of continuing to have to rely on them for service in the future, so will not buy another Hyundai.
