Nov 10th, arrived at 7:30 for an oil change and service - skfljf
Nov 10th, arrived at 7:30 for an oil change and service on our back doors not unlocking electronically. We were asked if we were waiting. We said yes, as we live out of town. We were told the wait could be long and we better have bought something to do. I thought that was an odd statement and also the doors could have easily been a fuse. I went to the service desk at 8:30 and asked if they had any idea on length of time, and I was told "they are working on it". I then went back to the service desk at 10:30 and was told again, "they are working on it". I then told him there should be a note in the computer saying that we could have a loaner car as we live out of town. He said that isn't possible and that the sales people handle that. No offer to take me to a salesperson and explain the situation. The reason there was supposed to be a note in the computer was we previously had a terrible experience with the service department, on June 2nd, where we waited 8 hours in your waiting room with no correspondence from anyone. I filed a complaint with that service and we received a call from someone there, on June 10th, who told us a note would be put in the computer that we were to get a loaner car..Now we have waited 4 hours, with no correspondence from anyone. Ridiculous! I decided to go find a salesman to talk to and ask about a loaner vehicle. I told him that we were promised a note was put in that we were to get one, but he just said, "we don't do that, and would not do that because of the distance we live, it would put too many miles on the vehicle. Basically laughed in my face. Still not one person has communicated with us about our vehicle. Approximately 3:30 they came and said the vehicle was ready. And that we would have to come back to get actuators replaced. Look up on google how long it takes to diagnose door Actuators. NOT 8 hours. We sat there for 8 HOURS, no breakfast, no lunch. We are furious. And everyone we tell about this experience is in awe. Yes you offer a shuttle, and had we known they were keeping our car for 8 hours we would have had them take us somewhere to have lunch. But we had NO communication. My husband is disabled and we cannot go to a mall and walk around for 8 hours either.
We were told to come back for the replacement and it would take 3 hours. We returned on Nov. 18th and they replaced the parts and we were out of there in an hour and a half. Pleasant surprise.
We were planning on purchasing a new Honda Pilot 2026 when they arrive as we always trade before our vehicle reaches 100,000 miles. (I asked a salesman when they would arrive and he said he had no idea. End of that conversation.)
Needless to say we will not step foot again into your dealership. You just lost a sale also! TWO times waiting 8 hours is not acceptable, and no communication makes it all the more unacceptable. "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me"

PS: My brother-in-law purchased his vehicle from McGrath. He live 45 minutes away. One time they took him home and picked him up the next day (obviously not worried about the miles on their vehicle. The next time he had service they gave him a loaner car.
