The Crosstrek had a manual transmission, which is what my son wanted but he wasn't very familiar with driving one. We test drove the car to a school parking lot and he tried out the car there. He liked the car, but I thought he should have a few lessons before he actually drove it on the main roads. We test drove the car on a Saturday, and we weren't allowed to formally take possession of the car until the next business day (Monday). So they let us "test drive" the car ourselves on Saturday afternoon so that I could give my son some lessons in driving with a manual transmission and then again on Sunday afternoon, so that my son would be able to drive the car safely off the lot on Monday. More
