VERY good buying experience! After having one of my two family cars finally give out, I found myself in the market for a car. It had been over 10 years since we last bought a car After having one of my two family cars finally give out, I found myself in the market for a car. It had been over 10 years since we last bought a car so I was a bit apprehensive about having to go through it. I searched online for several days and looked at several different dealer inventories and made a few visits to area dealerships. A particular pre-owned Ford Edge caught my eye after reviewing EVS' website so I made a trip to visit Eric Von Schledorn in Random Lake. I was able to walk around the lot freely (without being accosted by a salesperson) for a bit, and then Alex Hernandez came out to greet me. Alex was very knowledgeable and friendly and never once made any attempt to be pushy or press a "hard sell" type of attitude, which I greatly appreciated. In fact, he essentially let me "set the pace" so to speak with the whole process. I made a few trips in to see him and test drove a few different SUV's over the course of a week. On one quick trip into the showroom, I was met by the sales manager, John Kovach, who introduced himself and let me know that Alex was off that day, so I thanked John and let him know I would stop in another time when Alex was there. A few days later I did just that and was impressed when John saw me and said hello and remembered my name. All of the staff was friendly and really gave the impression that they care about where they work, what they do, and who they do it for. Certainly not every dealership out there gives that impression, but EVS in Random Lake does. While my wife and I discussed our final impressions after a test drive, Alex was kind enough to take our 4-year old little girl around the dealership for a "tour" and a cookie, which she really enjoyed and my wife and I appreciated the few minutes to talk privately! We negotiated a bit with Alex and John and arrived at a very fair price for a beautiful Ford Edge. The last step in the process was the financing. I was a little apprehensive about that part of it. I needed good terms and realized that was a lot to ask for since I did't have any cash to put down. I was very pleased when working with Noel Janke, the finance manager. Not only did Noel get us a nothing down deal with a great rate and a payment that perfectly fit our budget, he even stayed late on a Friday evening (past closing time) to finish the paperwork with my wife and I. He, like all the staff we encountered at EVS was extremely knowledgable, kind, friendly and dedicated. As I mentioned, it has been a long time since I needed to buy a car. EVS in Random Lake made the experience very enjoyable. We got a great deal on a great vehicle. We didn't buy the most expensive car on the lot....not even close. But we were treated like we did. I would highly recommend EVS in Random Lake and we will certainly buy from them again! More
