Price Gouging Went to look at cars on a Monday. Chose a 2019 Corolla with about 2900 miles on it. The salesman quoted a price of $18,897.00, which wasn't a great de Went to look at cars on a Monday. Chose a 2019 Corolla with about 2900 miles on it. The salesman quoted a price of $18,897.00, which wasn't a great deal, but we thought it was okay. Signed the contract, shook hands, drove off. Had to stop for gas on the way home. Our new car had 1/8 of a tank of gas in it. Wednesday morning, less than 48 hours after we bought our new car, I decided to go on the dealers website to print out the listing for the car we bought, before it was taken down. The price for our car, on the dealers website, was listed as $17,799.00!!! So I'm thinking what is going on? I emailed our salesman and wanted to know about the price difference. He responded two days later and asked me to leave a good review for him. Nothing about the price. This is PRICE GOUGING at it's finest, or at the least, false advertising. If they advertise on their website a price, they should sell the car at that price, regardless if the customer knows about the on-line listing. Shame on the salesman, and shame on the manager that approved this transaction. More
