I purchased a car from Orland Park Volkswagen in mid-April from Andy. Before leaving with the car, we noticed the wheel lock key was missing, which I immediately brought to Andy’s attention. He assu mid-April from Andy. Before leaving with the car, we noticed the wheel lock key was missing, which I immediately brought to Andy’s attention. He assured me that it would be placed in the car before I left the lot. Trusting his word, I went ahead with the purchase. The sales process itself went smoothly — until that missing key turned into a major safety concern. On Sunday, August 24th, I got a flat tire on the on-ramp of I-90. I contacted roadside assistance and waited 1.5 hours, only to be told they couldn’t help because the wheel lock key was not in the car. I was stranded on the side of a busy highway for over three hours, until my dad arrived with a DIY patch kit that allowed me to slowly drive off the ramp. After that, I went to three separate tire shops, all of which said they couldn’t remove the tire without the key. Since it was a Sunday and no VW locations were open, I had to miss work the next day to resolve the issue. When I finally reached Andy, he said he would “get right on it” and order the missing part. Then, nothing. I called nine times before finally reaching him again days later. He told me he had ordered the key and would even “drive it out” to me if needed. After that, I heard nothing for an entire month. Between then and now, I have called and left over 30 messages for both Andy and the dealership, with no meaningful response. I texted Andy seven separate times after his last message — not a single reply. When I eventually spoke with Gleb, the sales manager, he agreed that the lack of communication from Andy was unacceptable. However, he also informed me that the wheel lock key couldn’t even be ordered, which completely contradicted what Andy had told me. Gleb said the better solution would be to remove the locks and replace them with standard black caps, which sounded reasonable. He told me to come in and that he would “squeeze me in” to get it taken care of. I drove an hour each way to the dealership, expecting the issue to finally be resolved. Instead, I waited over an hour in the lobby while Gleb sat at his desk without a single word of communication — no apology, no update, no effort to follow up. When I asked how long it would take, he said he would check on it right away. About a minute later, he came back and told me the car would be “right up.” After waiting more than an hour, I admittedly asked bluntly, “An hour? For black caps?” His response was dismissive and condescending, and he appeared visibly irritated that I was frustrated after everything that had already happened. When I got home, I discovered that nothing had been fixed — the wheel lock was still on the tire, and no black caps had been installed. Gleb never even asked which tire the issue was with. I am deeply disappointed in both Andy and Gleb. Andy failed to ensure a basic safety item was in my vehicle and ignored my repeated attempts to contact him for over a month — even after learning I had been stranded on a highway because of his mistake. Gleb, as a manager, failed to take responsibility, offered no apology or professionalism, and returned my car without performing the simple service he promised. His dismissive attitude only added to the frustration. This entire experience — from being stranded in a dangerous situation to being ignored and dismissed for months — is unacceptable. I have been a long-time VW customer, as has my family, but this experience has completely destroyed my trust in Orland Park Volkswagen. More

I had a 1pm Monday appointment made I believe 3-5 days prior to service. I dropped the vehicle 30 minutes late 1:30pm and the tire didn’t even arrive until Tuesday and when the vehicle was picked up the w prior to service. I dropped the vehicle 30 minutes late 1:30pm and the tire didn’t even arrive until Tuesday and when the vehicle was picked up the wheel was extremely dirty and marked up so it looked worse than the way I left it. I’m pretty easy going and this disappointed me. I will likely seek out a different VW dealership next time. There are good people there but I am disappointed with this last service. More
