Buying a New SLK at Mercedes Benz of Naples My first visit I spoke briefly with David Wachs about trading in my S550 for something small and sporty. He introduced me to Ann Margaret Ross. She My first visit I spoke briefly with David Wachs about trading in my S550 for something small and sporty. He introduced me to Ann Margaret Ross. She took some information as I was pre-maturely in the buying cycle, and was not ready to purchase immediately. Ann respected that, and said that she would send me some SLK information and lease pricing, I checked other makes and models as I had plenty of time left on my S550 lease. Many other dealers were extremely pushy trying to make their monthly quota which became quite annoying. Leasing prices on several other manufacturer's cars were an extremely poor value in my mind, in comparison to the purchase price of the vehicle. Although many of them cheered their resale value after three years (Porshe, Maserti, Jaguar), their leasing rates did not reflect the tremendous resale value that was boasted by the sales staff. In the mean time Ann and I swapped information on email. She had a car in which I was interested, and encouraged me and my wife to test drive the vehicle. We did; Ann and David went to work on the financials; we bought the car that day -- six months early. They were not pushy, they listened and reacted to my concerns. I ended up with an attractive lease around 1% of the list purchase price. The whole process took about an hour -- out the door! Contrast this with a BMW dealer that wasted over 2 hours of my time just getting me a price, before I was allowed to test drive a car. Other manufacturer's leasing (see above) came in between 1.5-2% of the list price monthly. To me, that means in 36 months time, I am paying for 72% of the car -- great resale? Ann, Tom, and David were a pleasure to work with, did not waste any of my time, and produced a win/win deal in about one hour. Congratulations -- this is my fourth Mercedes in less than seven years at this dealership. Needless to say, I am sold on Mercedes Benz of Naples. Thank you, and by the way, we love the car! More
