I contacted the General Manager directly because I felt the Service Manager was non-responsive even though he said he’d get back to me. I can only imagine the GM delighted the inquiry to the very person I the Service Manager was non-responsive even though he said he’d get back to me. I can only imagine the GM delighted the inquiry to the very person I wanted to discuss. By the Service Manager’s own word, just because we did “shotty work” on the engine replacement, doesn’t have anything to do with the catalytic converter code coming up the next day. My engine light came on, all they did was hook it up and tell me I need a new Catalytic converter. Quoted me $2,900. Plus and would have to order and have the part in 2-3 days. They never even checked the work, no mechanic just “computer says”. I called around, only needed a portion of a catalytic converter. The “mechanics” actually did an assessment first, got the part which was damaged by the fumes being caused during the oil consumption problem. My engine had not been mounted properly, greater than a 1/8 inch gap, only one bolt was out back on the engine, the other bolt was actually found in the catalytic converter. NO Accident. The mechanics wrote up what they found, I hoped Kia would do right by me and pay the repairs or at least some of it. The Service Manager, very snuggly offer a $500.00 credit to use in their service department. Took no responsibility, condescending to my lack of auto knowledge to think one thing had anything to do with the other, even with the shotty work. This is the 2nd Kia from this dealership, my first Kia died a week after I put $1200.00 of work into it. Since I had no warrenty remaining I had to buy a new car. With 17 months of payments left I did not want to do that again. My Service Adviser had to tell sales to leave me alone because they kept calling to buy my car. One more thing, when I tried to use the $500.00 to purchase an extended warranty, I received no help whats so ever. A promise of a call regarding the credit and then nothing. He likely spoke with the Service Manager regarding it and was once again no help. One thing I learned from this, going to a dealership for help means nothing, their mechanics don’t have extensive training or experience, you can get anybody that has some background with little experience. My belief the dealership is the best place to go is totally gone, find a good mechanic that will look under the hood. Very poor service and response. I do not give negative reviews generally, but this was so poor and extremely expensive a lesson. More

Anthony in the service department was so great! We dropped off our Kia when it unexpectedly shut off one day and he helped us through the stressful situation. He was nice and explained everything tha dropped off our Kia when it unexpectedly shut off one day and he helped us through the stressful situation. He was nice and explained everything that was going on. He accommodated us with a rental car so it was no big deal that they had to keep the car. 10/10 for Southside KIA!! More
