I brought in my 2012 Cooper S for what was clearly a footwell module related problem. Ashley blamed the issue on the car having an aftermarket battery, then tried to get me to spend $800 for a new BMW footwell module related problem. Ashley blamed the issue on the car having an aftermarket battery, then tried to get me to spend $800 for a new BMW battery a reprogramming the car’s software. I called my regular mechanic who said Ashley’s explanation was nonsense. I also contacted one of the preeminent Mini mechanics in the country (Waylen at Way Motorworks) who also called xx. Ultimately I was forced to pay $540 for diagnostic fees and software programming. I’ve written to Mini USA to lodge a final complaint and ask for a refund. As a side note- always remember that dealership Service Writers (Ashley) are paid commission, and sometimes are paid SOLELY on commission, so the more they force YOU to pay, the more salary they make personally. That’s why they call them “stealerships”. Do yourself a favor and take your cars to Luxury Import Specialists or Westlink Auto where the owners and mechanics are honest and reputable. More
