It was a pleasure working with both Ashton and John. There was no pressure to buy and no hassle about taking test drives. Really felt they were looking after our best interests. Thanks. I attempted to purchase a 2024 Honda Pilot that Greg May Honda advertised online for $44,319, clearly marked as Honda Certified. When I asked for an out-the-door price, the dealership added a $995 “certifi Honda advertised online for $44,319, clearly marked as Honda Certified. When I asked for an out-the-door price, the dealership added a $995 “certification” fee—despite the fact that the vehicle was already advertised as certified. I believe this violates both Honda’s Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program rules, which prohibit charging separately for certification when it’s already advertised, and Texas Administrative Code §215.241, which requires dealers to include all dealer-imposed fees in advertised prices, except tax, title, and license. I objected and the GM agreed to remove the $995 certification fee but then added several new charges totaling around $500, including: A dealer reconditioning/prep fee, A documentation fee, Dealer inventory tax. These fees were not disclosed in the earlier price quote and, I believe they are illegal based on Texas law. After further communication with the general manager, Kyle Binner, the dealership refused to correct the pricing and ultimately refused service entirely, which I believe constitutes retaliation against a consumer raising valid legal concerns. My only goal here was to buy this vehicle at the advertised price. This review reflects my documented personal experience and is protected under the First Amendment and Texas consumer speech laws.
