We bought a 2020 gmc acadia used from Honda ft myers. The car had 1850 miles and no carfax reported accidents. The check engine light was on and we had them check it before we bought it. They said bad batter car had 1850 miles and no carfax reported accidents. The check engine light was on and we had them check it before we bought it. They said bad battery. Replaced the battery and there was no more check engine light. 3 days later the check engine light comes back on. We take it to GMC because there is a warranty, which honda upsold us for an extended warranty. They checked the car at gmc and immediately called me stating the car is unsafe to drive. There was multiple fuel leaks as well as the entire underside of the car being torn up and put back together with zip ties. Honda told me they changed the oil, which includes removing the oil filter and replacing it. The oil drains from under the car. So there was no way they didn't see all that damage, which was confirmed by gmc. Gmc told me it was way too much damage to even cover under warranty. The car was basically totalled. I'd been driving around my 3 kids in that car, according to gmc is unsafe to drive, for 3 days. Furious I called honda and they had me drive it to them after I explained the above to them. When I pulled up to honda, I was met by one of the sales managers who knew why I was there. He said "Do you think we could get you into a honda pilot?" he didn't seem very concerned or sorry for the situation. They than insisted on checking the car themselves for proof. They confirmed what gmc had told me and began the process of what to do. In the end after 3 or 4 hours of sitting there with my 2 year old I was told they reversed the sale and I would get any money I spent back. That's the best part of my experience with honda. They also paid for my Uber home which was expected and didnt hurt them any. We are still furious weeks later and continue to tell anyone that's thinking of working with honda to run away fast! The salesman Basem who sold us the car was very apologetic and extremely pleasent to work with. More

While the car I came for wasn't available they worked with me to help find a van that would meet my needs. From the sales to the financing they did a great job with exceeding my needs with me to help find a van that would meet my needs. The idea that your dealership forces you to use dealership financing is absurd. No drafts checks; simply shady. Lost my future business. Our sales person was excellent. We came pre-approved. Our credit was still pulled through multiple lenders. We were upfront about trying to buy house. Were told they still had to pull it. So now we've had a credit was still pulled through multiple lenders. We were upfront about trying to buy house. Were told they still had to pull it. So now we've had a huge decrease to our credit holding up our house buying. Then when I asked why it was run through multiple lenders as I'm getting credit inquiry notices on my monitoring services I was told it is a pass through system. Unfortunately we had no choice but to purchase new vehicle since my husband's was totaled. Not thrilled! Should be what's best for customer not the dealership. When I walk in with pre-approval my credit should not have been pulled again. I was pleased with the process until this point. It makes you appear like you're doing shady business. Not good business. Salesman (Basem) was very friendly and helpful, he was very Knowledgeable about the CRV vehicle we bought. After we bought the vehicle and we’re ready to leave we only got one key fob. Not very straightforward dealership and very casual regarding the treatment of customers, at least this customer. We were treated from the very beginning, even as cash customers, with a "take it or lea regarding the treatment of customers, at least this customer. We were treated from the very beginning, even as cash customers, with a "take it or leave it" attitude which was very disappointing. Additionally, the car that we ended up purchasing has a VIN number that belongs to the Puerto Rico market, not the USA market, but we were not told about it upfront. We ended up finding out going to a KIA dealership and calling KIA Motors of Puerto Rico, the KIA distributor in Puerto Rico, to obtain additional information as KIA USA could not as they don't the VIN number in their system. So, long story short, if the car needs warranty work, it will be a hassle as any KIA USA service shop will need to contact KIA Puerto Rico. We should have been told about this upfront. According to the General Sales Manager, when we brought this issue to his attention, he indicated that they didn't check the VIN number as it was a trade in vehicle. He offered to exchange the vehicle to another Kia Niro or to refund us the monies paid. The first option was not acceptable as the available vehicle had more signs of wear and tear as it was a former rental vehicle. The second was also not an option because our daughter was already in love with the car, a gift for her, and she didn't want to start from the beginning again. Buyer beware!! More
