Firstly, my experience with the TrueCar service was truly negative. I received a quote through them which stated that the Honda Civic I wanted to buy would cost me $29,993 cash or $488 financed at Hendricks negative. I received a quote through them which stated that the Honda Civic I wanted to buy would cost me $29,993 cash or $488 financed at Hendricks Honda. Furthermore, it stated that the interest rate would 5.34% for 72 months and that I had to pay $105 at the car signing with no money down and excellent credit. In addition, the quote stated that I would get a dealer discount of $1487. Given that information I basically ran to the dealership to get the deal. The deal I received from Hendrix Honda was at 6% interest with a payment of $536.81 a month for 72 months without the $1487 dollar discount. I had to trade in my old car and got $500 for it and I had to give a $2500 down payment. So nothing in the TrueCar quote / offer was honored. My only regret was that I didn’t ask nor was I shown the breakdown of the itemized total price of the vehicle before signing the sales contract. The initial cost of the car was listed at $26,247 and with all the add ons they threw in there it came out to a total of $36,514.42. I happened to look at the contract on the thumb drive I was given at the dealer with all the information on it on 10/21/24. I wouldn’t have purchased the vehicle if I saw the total cost of the Honda Civic Sport. A $10,267.42 mark up with taxes. I trusted but didn’t verify and that was my own fault. I had to come back to the dealership the very next day because the car had a break issue / grinding noise in the front wheel wells that took about 2 hours to fix. The sales team treated me and my family well when I was there. More
