I recently purchased a used 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD from Lakeside Chevrolet in Warsaw, IN. While the truck is exactly what I was looking for and the staff members were nice there were several is 2500HD from Lakeside Chevrolet in Warsaw, IN. While the truck is exactly what I was looking for and the staff members were nice there were several issues throughout the purchasing process that caused concern and will keep me from working with them again. I had found the used truck online through cars.com and contacted the dealership to setup an appointment. This was my first experience with Lakeside. The test drive went well and the vehicle was clean. I did not have many questions because I have owned several Chevy trucks and did a lot of research before stepping on the lot such as reviewing the Carfax, market value assessments, and included package options. I sat down with Ben to work on the numbers. I had predetermined where I needed to be both with trade-in value and on the purchase price and had pre-approval from my credit union. The trade-in value on the first offer was close to what I wanted but the new vehicle was at sticker. I questioned if they could work with me on the price of the new vehicle and was told they had no room to come down and were already losing money on it. With that I asked for my keys and walked away. Two days later I received a call from Paris the sales manager. He asked what they could do to earn my business and I expressed my concern with the price. He was able to both increase the trade-in value and lower the price of the new vehicle. He sent me the sales agreement to review and I noticed a $1200 addendum charge. I questioned that and was told it is added to all new and used vehicles. I said I would not pay it so Paris quickly removed it as long as I financed at the dealership (using my credit union). The next day I went to pickup the truck. I went through the process of signing papers and declining all the additional coverages. When I was ready to leave, Ben handed me a key. I asked for the second key and was told they didn’t have one. Also when I got in the truck to leave the gas tank was nearly empty. Additionally, once I got home I noticed there were no owners manuals in the glove box and the cabin air filter had not been changed. I reached out to the dealer about getting a 2nd key and questioned the lack of manuals and a dirty cabin air filter and they brushed it off. With that I will not be back and do not recommend anyone purchase from Lakeside Chevrolet. Throughout the process it was clear they care about money more than the customer. They did nothing above and beyond that would make me feel good about my purchase and want to come back. If you do decide to go to Lakeside please know that they will try to manipulate cost and do not expect them to provide any extra benefits or even a full tank of gas. More
