Don't walk away from Elgin Toyota. ...RUN! I spent 3 days discussing the new 2023 Toyota Sienna with the BDC department. Andrea sent me two of the exact same car with matching MSRP $ ...RUN! I spent 3 days discussing the new 2023 Toyota Sienna with the BDC department. Andrea sent me two of the exact same car with matching MSRP $51,718. I agreed to purchase one vehicle over the phone. She said I had to come in to complete the sale which I knew was not necessary give new covid policies. I agreed to drive 45 minutes just to give them a $1000 deposit. The salesmen greeted me and let me take a quick test drive to be sure this was the car for me. When I returned they offered me $10,000 in accessories to the van I did not want or could afford. 62k plus tax for a minivan was over my budget. The General sales manager Bob Keissami said I was told on the phone by the BDC department what to expect. They flat out lied to me so I would drive in for the bait and switch. Their own online price was MSRP $51,718 which I was fine with. This dealer uses a bait and switch policy to trick consumers and force you to take accessories you don't want, even though the vehicle is not built or delivered to the store. I asked to speak to the GM for further discussion but he said no. He asked me to leave but I insisted to see the GM. When the GM came down I agreed to leave. I should have read the online reviews before driving over. 10k over is egregious and predatory. Their only prices are bogus and their tactics are from the1980s. Caveat emptor. More

Overall okay experience. Typical dealership tactics, but not over the top. VERY aggressive about not taking outside financing, pushing cash grab add-ons like VIN etching ($29 Typical dealership tactics, but not over the top. VERY aggressive about not taking outside financing, pushing cash grab add-ons like VIN etching ($299), charging the maximum legal limit for documentation fee ($303), and extended warranty ($3000!!). I went through 4 different reps who were increasingly hostile with me that I declined the warranties. Moreover, even with a good credit score (789) they wouldn't give me the premium interest rate (3.99% as of 8/22) unless I bought the warranty... This is either a deceptive financing strategy from Toyota corporate or an outright lie. Guess I pay 6% interest now... In summary I got an alright deal on the used Highlander I purchased, but I could have EASILY been screwed over if I wasn't versed in the industry. Not sure if I'll use them in the future. There are certainly some good folks here, but be extra cautious when the finances hit the table. More

on 6/18/22, I went to Elgin Toyota and I wish I would have read these reviews before I purchased a new car from them. Every negative comment that I've read about the dealership is exactly what happened t have read these reviews before I purchased a new car from them. Every negative comment that I've read about the dealership is exactly what happened to me. I too, was given specific numbers concerning a trade/purchase by way of texts and phone conversation. After driving nearly 3 hrs, my fears became reality. Throw out all those previously discussed numbers and start all over again. NOTHING ever mentioned about the $4999 protection plan until I got to the dealership. They hide behind a small print statement when it comes to giving a person a quote,,,,,may not include dealer installed add-ons,,,,you don't find out about this HIDDEN charge until you get to the dealership. I should have walked and gone elsewhere, but due to the scarcity of available new cars, I was stuck. Lawyers and car salesmen,,,,a special place in purgatory for both. I truly wish I could walk this experience back and undo the purchase. More

This manager and employees in the dealership have no ethics. They throw bait showing month end sale and $2k discount on MSRP and when you go in the dealership they ask for $3k above MSRP by saying you h ethics. Manager was very rude and had no concerns for customer. See photo attached that was sen to me in email but it was not honored when i went to buy the car. I would not recommend anyone even going in this dealership as customers need to teach lessons to these non ethical people. More

If I want to define Thieves, I would say Elgin Toyota Dealer. In my deal to buy 2022 Toyota RAV4, they forced me to buy pro pack for $4995 which I did not want. That pro pack includes installing on my ve Dealer. In my deal to buy 2022 Toyota RAV4, they forced me to buy pro pack for $4995 which I did not want. That pro pack includes installing on my vehicle a GPS from SWAT company. I called SWAP to ask about its cost, they told me they don’t have license to sell it, but they give it to Elgin Toyota Dealer to sell it by installing it on the cars they sell. Wow!!! Also, in trade in my car, they give me a price of $19000, while CarMax priced my car with an official letter and willing to purchase it from me at the seen for $24000. Wow!!! So Elgin Toyota Dealer is taking advantage of the situation such that to make profit around more than $15000 in selling the car to me if we included the Dealer invoice price which is much lower than MSRP price which is not Negotiable anymore. In top of all of that, the sales people including their general manager were very rude and disrespectful. Therefore, I canceled my deal and went to another Toyota Dealer which was 180 degrees better. I never ever advice anybody to purchase a car from Elgin Toyota Dealer, unless if you wanted to pay thousands more on things you don’t want in the first place and you are looking for argument and headache then that is the best place to go. More

The team at Elgin Toyota helped me work through a long-distance purchase, which is something I have never done before. I flew from Montana to Chicago and drove home very happily in a 2017 MINI Clubm long-distance purchase, which is something I have never done before. I showed up, the car was cleaned and waiting with a full tank of gas, I signed some papers and I was on my way. Thank you. More

There is one thing I see as a common issue here in the negative reviews and that is Bob. We were already to purchase a car today. Had the price of the vehicle filled out the credit application and then th negative reviews and that is Bob. We were already to purchase a car today. Had the price of the vehicle filled out the credit application and then the salesman Jun came back and was trying to sell us the interior wArrenty for almost $4000 more that we said we were not interested in. Then one by one a sales manager would come over. Basically stating that we don’t have an option YOU HAVE TO BUY It so all of a sudden the car the car is 4000 more! When they knew what we wanted to pay BEFORE the test drive, before the credit application and before being there 2 hours already! I get it’s a sellers market but that is totally dishonest!!! You tell that to your customers BEFORE they give you all their information!!! Bob is not interested in making customers happy! He is interested in smiling and saying “ you don’t like it go somewhere else”! Well guess what Bob there will be a day when you are full of cars and people will not come back to you because you are a rude and arrogant just as the other sales managers were that came by us!!!! I am being told the owner is making them have people purchase this!!!! It’s wrong and deceptive to do it AFTER you have someone fill out an application! More

Stay Away From this dealership Shady Tactic’s. Before even going there I made sure and asked for all itemized numbers and even asked is there any other packages that are associated with the vehicle. But nope there’s $3995 additional charges that will be added weather you like it or not. They will try to put you in. Even for the current TOYOTA INCENTIVES I had to tell that it’s 1.9% on the vehicle otherwise if you don’t know you end up 2.9%. I’ll get the vehicle but not coming again to this Dealership. Will make sure to call TOYOTA CORPORATE and express my experience. There’s a BIG Reason that still 2.8 Stars More
