Our recent experience of purchasing a KIA Sorento at Gettel KIA of Bradenton: We recently decided to assist our daughter in purchasing a new vehicle. Her choice was a KIA Sorento. After several days Gettel KIA of Bradenton: We recently decided to assist our daughter in purchasing a new vehicle. Her choice was a KIA Sorento. After several days of research we concluded to purchase a Sorento from Gettel, as Gettel offered a 2023 Sorento at the lowest price we found (or so we were lead to believe ). That’s where our disappointment started. The following review is a synopsis of our experiences at Gettel KIA of Bradenton: Positive experiences at Gettel KIA of Bradenton: ▪️facility was very clean and organized. ▪️vehicle was in pristine condition. ▪️sales rep (our face-to-face) contact was pleasant and somewhat knowledgeable about the vehicle. ▪️finance officer was very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. ▪️finance officer offered us a great warranty. Negative experiences at Gettel KIA of Bradenton: ▪️My first contact was when I called and asked to speak to a sales representative who confirmed that the Sorento was still in stock and we agreed on an appointment time (that appointment was made in late December of 2023). At that time I was informed that Gettel KIA was offering a “minimum of $5000 for any trade-in and that we’d get 2.9% financing on the 28K for the 2023 Sorento offered on your website. Our appointment was for January 1st 2024 at 1pm. I woke early that morning to see that the Sorento had went up to 29K over night. I called and spoke the same sales rep again who told me that she spoke to “her manager and if I come in on my scheduled appointment that I will get the Sorento for the original offer of 28K” I advised her that I’ll be there. She reminded me that I can get “up to 5K for my trade-in” which was completely different from her original statement that I’d get a “minimum of $5000 for any trade-in”… ▪️Arriving at 1pm, we met with the “floor” sales rep who advised me that I will not see the rep on the phone as she just works upstairs. Already confused that the person who made me promises and verbal agreements will not represent us. I told the “floor” sales rep of all the false promises the person on the phone promised me and he simply said he had no idea of who I talked to and I even told him her name and he ignored that. ▪️As we sat down after looking at the car and test driving it the “Floor” sales rep began to describe $3000 worth of additional things on the car and I attempted to decline said services but was advised that it’s already been done to the car and that cost will be added onto the price. We, at that time felt completely lied to and cheated and and misinformed. We began to struggle to even stay there to complete the deal. ▪️After several times of the sales rep walking back and forth to the glass office of “offers and and declines” we reluctantly settled because we had traveled over 1-1/2 hours to get, what we first thought, was a good deal. ▪️The “floor” sales rep promised to take our SunPass off the windshield of our trade in and he was reminded twice to do so to the point of telling me that service center is sending him up a razor blade to do it. It never happened. ▪️Our experience took over 4 hours and that’s with even with filling out forms for pre-approval on your website. ▪️Our signing time was extended up to a half hour more as, per the financial officer, they approved the wrong person. Once again, the person on the phone promised to coordinate the loan applications. ▪️I asked the finance officer how the sales at Gettel KIA are and he said very slow…we can understand why after our experiences. ▪️At the end of the process we were asked “that even if we had a bad experience to please give KIA Gettel high marks because they needed them. I’ve even received emails asking to call so my sales rep can change things so I can give them/him a 100% rating…these problems are way above his pay grade. In conclusion, I’d have to say, with the lies and misdirection… not a fan of Gettel KIA. More
