Awesome Service On Sunday, June 10th, my in-laws, who are in their mid-seventies, drove from their home in south Louisiana to Wichita for a visit. While south of Tul On Sunday, June 10th, my in-laws, who are in their mid-seventies, drove from their home in south Louisiana to Wichita for a visit. While south of Tulsa, they decided to stop and fill up. When they started the car again, there was a loud noise, smoke started coming out of the hood and there was a funny smell in the car. My father-in-law shut the car off and opened the hood to inspect what had happened. After poking around a bit he realized that part of the air conditioner had broken apart. This was strange because it was part of an overall fix from an accident he was in and that part was rebuilt by the body shop. He taped it together, however now they were without air conditioning in the 90-plus degree heat, still with several hours to go. They would have stopped, but had an ice chest full of food for us. When they arrived at our house, it was 7:30 PM; they were exhausted, drenched in sweat and in a very unpleasant mood. I would have been also if I had driven that long with the windows down to try and get some sort of relief. My father-in-law asked me where to take the car, a Ford Edge. I recommended my local shop until he said he would prefer to take it to a Ford dealer and asked how many we had in Wichita. Since I have a friend who recently had a series of bad experiences at the “other” dealer in Wichita on the east side and remembering someone saying something positive about Mel Hambelton, I told him to try you. That made me a little nervous because I had no personal experience and just stuck my neck out with him. The next morning he and my mother-in-law paid you a visit. I was honestly nervous all day at work knowing that I would hear about it first thing when I got home. Sure enough when I walked in the door, my father-in-law was waiting to tell me about his experience. He could not stop gushing about how well everything went. It seems that when he drove in and told the service advisor his story, she told him that they would be happy to get him taken care of that day. He said the shop was very busy but the advisor did not use that as an excuse and got his vehicle pulled back quickly. He then told me about how nice the waiting area is, how good his chorizo burrito was at the customer lunch counter and how friendly everyone was. He also complimented your service staff on taking pictures and videos for him regarding the damages so he could take that to his insurance company. The mechanic also did not just fix the original problem but took the time to make sure other things were good. By doing this, he pointed out several other issues from the previous fix that needed attention. He said everyone really seemed to go above and beyond for him. The last thing he said was how reasonable the bill was. Please accept my sincere thanks for making what was a terrible experience much better. I wish I had everyone’s name so that I could call him or her out personally. I ask that you look into who had contact with him and make sure they know how much they did to make him feel like a valued customer. I will definitely recommend your service department going forward and have shared this story to my friend who used “the other guy”. Your dealership truly shows what good values are all about and what it means to be Wichita proud. More

The Perfect Christmas Gift!!! My wife & I were shopping for Trucks... Ford Trucks. We ended up at Mel Hambelton because after a Sunday of browsing dealers (MH leaves most of their My wife & I were shopping for Trucks... Ford Trucks. We ended up at Mel Hambelton because after a Sunday of browsing dealers (MH leaves most of their vehicles open, we were able to view every vehicle inside and out) we found several we liked. We pulled in and Christie walked right up to us and greeted us with her huge smile. We spent the next 4 hours looking at numerous F150's... I mean we were 'all over' the lot. Christie was knowledgeable with every model... if she questioned something she pulled out her handy handheld device which had the answer. She served us FRESHLY BAKED chocolate chocolate chip cookies... yes FRESH. During negotiations she even served my wife fresh soft tacos... so we could finish the deal LOL!!! I'm giving Christie 5 stars because she is: knowledgeable talked to both of us sense of humor after the sale follow-ups (we purchased wheels) service follow up (brakes fixed) Walk in ask for Christie you wont be disappointed. More

Poor customer service I have spent a lot of money on service over the past several years on all my vehicles Ford, Pontiac, and Chevy. Never have bought a car from Mel Hamil I have spent a lot of money on service over the past several years on all my vehicles Ford, Pontiac, and Chevy. Never have bought a car from Mel Hamilton. My Chevrolet needed AC repair and I knew it would need a new system. I called the week of 18-22 July 16 and got an appointment for the service on 25 July 16. When I told the young lady that I would need a ride back home (I live in Derby), she wanted to know if I bought my car there, I told her no, then she said that they could not provide a ride for me because it was outside of Wichita. Needless to say, I cancelled the appt and will never go back. Plus, I will never consider buying a car there now. There are plenty of service centers who do want my business. My AC replacement also led to a fan clutch replacement and the customer service was excellent ! More
