During my first visit several weeks ago, the person I spoke with didn’t seem interested in taking on the work. I was told that parts were taking weeks to arrive and was advised to try a transmission shop spoke with didn’t seem interested in taking on the work. When I called back a few weeks later, I scheduled an appointment for an engine tick and an airbag light. I was told the airbag part was discontinued, and I was given quotes for other items related to the ticking noise and some oil leaks. However, the online status tracker never updated beyond “parts ordered,” and the pricing shown there didn’t match what I was told. I later received a call from Dakota saying the vehicle was ready on Friday, but the app still showed “parts ordered” and listed incorrect pricing. That added to the confusion. I also have questions about some of the recommended services. For example, the power steering fluid was flagged, but I had recently changed it and it appeared clean. The brake fluid had been flushed during my last brake service, and I replaced the radiator and coolant a few years ago, yet those items were also marked for service. Additionally, I had asked about options for addressing the transmission but never received any guidance. I also responded “yes” to a text asking if I wanted a quote based on the value of my truck, but I never received a follow-up on that either. I still have the engine tick $2600 later. More
