I was looking at possibly purchasing an F-150. The process started off well while working with Cory. This was a little more information than I would have cared to receive, but didn’t want to let that stop my experience with sunset. I will say, I am in no immediate rush to purchase (I reiterated this to Cory many times), but there was a good financing promotion was going on and I thought I may get a new car during that promotion. Once I came in during my 3rd and final appointment, I sat down with Cory and we went through pricing. I began filling out profile on the computer, I could not help but notice some of the tabs that were open on the computer. I will not go into detail, but was not professional in the slightest manner. Before I finished this portion, I made an offer for the vehicle. It took me three times before Cory would seek out the manager. Once he did, the sales manager came down and spoke with me. He was polite and professional but we could not come to an agreement. The entire process felt forced, I had two salesman standing at my back was felt as if I was being pressured into making a decision I was not comfortable with. The concept of how great of a deal I’m getting was being repeated and it became a little overbearing. There was zero negotiation which is okay. At the end of the day, we could not come to an agreement upon a price so I left. I was not upset with the outcome at that time, just thought some of the personal information I was exposed to was not professional. About an hour or so after, I received a text message stating that I had upset the manager for a “tied up” truck a was trying to purchase and if I wanted to drive / purchase vehicle I would need to go to the Waterloo location. That same vehicle has been in their inventory for some time, and still is today so I doubt that being the reason it was sent. After the text message and the other unprofessional behavior I experienced, I have zero intention of returning to sunset or recommending to anyone. More
