Mr. Williams, I am disappointed to see that you are not happy with the ongoing experience for the purchase of your Renegade. I took over operations at Louisville Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram on August 20th. I have talked to the employees that you have mentioned in your review and we have a different opinion of those events. Let me start with the original purchase. When a customer spends 6 1/2 hours at the store it can feel like an eternity and I understand this should not be a normal time frame for the purchase of a vehicle. We are doing our best to speed up this process so I do apologize for that. Scratches are an unfortunate and regular occurrence on new vehicles. Repairing the scratch can be trying. There are times when we sell a new vehicle and must repair a scratch. When this happens and the scratch is not repaired to the point that it looks like the factory color, no one is happy, not the customer and not the dealer and especially not the body shop. When a scratch takes several attempts to get it right, the body shop has to do the work over in most cases for free and obviously this is not what anyone strives for. In the vast majority of the cases the repair does get handled to everyone's satisfaction, however there are times and this is one of them that the dealer disagrees with the customers opinion. I have been working with customers in cases like this for over 30 years. This is a very unusual case. After your scratch was repaired this last time, I went out with you and took a VERY close look at it. The repair was incredibly well done. I could not tell where it had actually been painted. The area that was painted has a lifetime warranty and this warranty is actually longer than the factory warranty. In regards to the offer of $500.00 to take the car AS-IS, there is a very high percentage of customers that would rather have $500.00 cash and not worry about the 1/4 inch scratch that was already repaired and not exposed. I understand that you are not one of them. This is why I had the Body shop do the work on the car. The rental car that was given to you was dirty and that should never happen. In this case it was returned by the previous customer minutes before we gave it to you. We would have liked to cleaned it before we gave it to you and this did not happen. We could have cleaned it and given it to you a few minutes later. I was not present during the time this happened so I do not know if we offered to clean it and if we did not I apologize again. We are undergoing many training sessions and are doing our best to handle all customer concerns in a manner that would make the customer proud to do business with our team. Mr. Williams, I sincerely apologize for the way this was handled. I hope you enjoy the Jeep because it is a very nice vehicle. I would like to add to this review now that I have the vehicle back and have had it inspected by a reputable body shop. It will cost me an additional $1700 to repair the damage that was done when Louisville Chrysler Dodge Ram Jeep “repaired” their initial damage. They broke the clips that hold the plastic fender flare in place, and did not replace them. Now it is loose and rattles at speed. They also left large tape lines that must be repaired to ensure the paint does not peel and it has several runs in the paint. While I recognize that two people can have different perspectives of any situation, ultimately I am still unhappy with the product and am left with only two choices, deal with it and eat the expense or hire an attorney to pursue this legally.
