The pre-sales experience was pretty standard, they say what they think they need to say to make you feel good and close the sale. For my part I was happy with my trade offer and the price of the new vehicle. I purchased a very gently used 2025 Sienna, under 5k miles. Where the experience went from standard to abysmal was a little over a week later I started the vehicle and got a check engine light. I called the dealer to see if they could read the code and was told because it was under 10k miles I had to take it to a Toyota dealership, the closest is over 45 min away. I asked if they could just read the code so I would know if it was safe to drive almost an hour away and was told it would cost $130 odd dollars. Not being willing to check the code on a $45k vehicle purchased roughly a week ago is ridiculous. They also needed to touch up some paint that was scratched while it sat on the dealer lot and I had to call back in to set that up. I confirmed with the salesman which spots I was expecting to by fixed and they didn't fix them all. Not only that but the spot they did fix looks like it was touched up with nail polish and a hair dryer. Overall, the moment I agreed to make the purchase the dealer ceased to really care about me or my time. More
