I chose to trade into an Onyx model, which is one level below the Limited that I had, to keep the payments down. I felt like it was a better fit for me anyway. No one tried to upsell me to a more expensive model or steer me in any way except for what I wanted. The staff were very friendly and authentic. I bought a Subaru Forester Sport 2024 at Irvine Subaru dealer at the end of Oct. I am not a California resident, so I asked one of their sellers if they have experience selling cars out of state. They confirmed with me they had done it several times before, they could help me out if I wanted to buy the car from them. I also gave them my zip code to calculate the sale tax. I also told them I wanted an out-of-door price. I went to the dealer after the seller gave me a number for the car I wanted. Before I signed the paperwork to buy the car, I confirmed again with 3 people at the dealer that this price would be everything I needed to pay. They said yes and I won't need to pay for anything besides the registration when I go to the DMV at Nevada. The man also showed me that they already collected all the sales tax, I just needed to bring the paperwork to the DMV to register. I also asked about the title of my car since I paid off my car right away. He said DMV in Nevada would give me the title car. I went to the DMV in Nevada a few days ago to register my car. The DMV said my car still owed $210.32 for the sale tax, also Nevada won't give me the title car since California collected the title fee. I went home and emailed my seller, she responded to me that the tax in Nevada is higher than in Orange County, so I need to pay the difference in the sale tax. And a finance will call me to explain. I sent her another email since we discussed the out-of-door price… based on where I am living. No response and no one called me. I also texted and called the service director of Irvine Subaru since he sent me an email to introduce me and gave me his number. I received nothing. If they do not have experience selling cars out of state, they must not lie to the customers. Moreover, I already paid off my car but I have no idea about the title of my car…. Irving Subaru needs to contact me to solve the problems!!! More
