After oil change, service deskman advised that we were in need of coolant and transmission service/replacement for $500. We contacted another Toyota dealer that we use and were advised that those systems are need of coolant and transmission service/replacement for $500. We contacted another Toyota dealer that we use and were advised that those systems are sealed and service is recommended at 100,000, not the 62,000 miles of our vehicle. So, we suspect upselling of an unnecessary service. More

Pretty much a waste of an hour. I was warned when I arrived that they wouldn't do much to solve the problem and they kept their promise. This is my fourth 4Runner which I purchased because of the relia arrived that they wouldn't do much to solve the problem and they kept their promise. This is my fourth 4Runner which I purchased because of the reliability and good resale. The brakes will squeal when parked outside in the cold for a few hours for the first couple of brake applications. I was told that this is quite common. None of my previous 4Runners or any vehicle I have owned in the past 45 years did this. I have 30 years experience as a mechanic, so I know this isn't 'common'. Metro did nothing to address the issue. Either the pads/calipers have a defect, or grease is needed behind the pads. Toyota or the dealer should be looking into the problem. Sadly, this will be my last Toyota, especially if this problem is common as was stated to me, with their vehicles. More
