II was looking for a Buick Envista for my geriatric mother because I live out of town and wanted something reliable for her. Her previous vehicle was breaking down and I was tired of worrying about the mother because I live out of town and wanted something reliable for her. Her previous vehicle was breaking down and I was tired of worrying about the reliability of something she needs to run her errands. I found one that I thought was optimal for her with Heritage Buick GMC, and called to ask some questions. I was connected with Doug, and I went ahead and put down a deposit. At this time, everything was rainbows and sunshine as you would expect of a car salesman, but for the most part no red flags. I did ask him to make sure the car's interior was detailed prior to my arrival (I had to drive into town and I live about 5.5 hours away), to which he ensured me it would be taken care of. The reason I asked is because the photos of the car on their website showed a series of scuff marks and dust. Long story short, I come into town and my mother and I head to the dealership. It was a miserable drive due to serious traffic and construction, so I was not particularly happy that Doug did not warn us of this since he knew we were driving in from Fort Worth. Regardless, we finally arrive and after a brief test drive everything seems to be in order. I noticed that the interior was in fact not detailed as I had requested, as the same scuffs and dust were prevalent. I asked Doug to go ahead and take care of that while we deal with the paperwork. The finance individual was pretty great, I forget his name was he was straightforward and very helpful. The only thing I did not like (which comes into play later), is that both he and Doug absolutely ensured me that anytime the vehicle had issues that were covered by the factory warranty (which I bought an extended version of), that there would be a loan car available regardless of which Buick/GMC I take it to in the DFW metroplex (including her local one in Fort Worth). After wrapping up the sale, Doug helped me download the Buick App prior to leaving. Things got a little weird when he had me sit in the car with OnStar as they asked for my credit card number for service. I looked at him confused and he did not really acknowledge that. I also noticed that the scuff marks and dust, which I had asked Doug at least twice to take care of, were STILL there. At that point I said screw it and thought I would do it myself, even though when you purchase a brand you car you expect it to be in brand new condition. Fast forward two weeks later, I return to my home town and my mom calls me to tell me that she appears to have a pretty serious oil leak. I am naturally confused, since the car has less than 400 miles on it and was brand new. I call Doug, and he was truly completely unhelpful in my opinion. It was like he was satisfied that the sale had already closed, and mentioned he might be able to get me a trade-in vehicle but certainly no refund. He also said that he will transfer me to his service manager, and told me to just repeat what I was telling him. You would think that someone who actually sold you the car, who you consistently mentioned that you are looking for a reliable car for your geriatric mother who lives 5.5 hours away from you, would take a little more initiative or display more sympathy for the situation. But no. I spoke to the service manager (I unfortunately forget his name), and he mentions that he does not have any loan cars available (directly in contrast of what both Doug and the finance manager ensured me of), and that he would call me back with information as to when one would be returned if we wanted to service our vehicle there. I never received a call back. Not from Doug, or the service manager. I ended up going to another Buick dealership that was closed to my mom's home, and while that was a fiasco in itself, the service manager there was able to take care of us. More
