Awesome Quote - Possibly Illegal Fees and Practices I started my Subaru purchase experience by shopping for competitive quotes via email. I am an Indiana resident, which is important later in this deba I started my Subaru purchase experience by shopping for competitive quotes via email. I am an Indiana resident, which is important later in this debacle. Jessica at Autobarn Subaru of Countryside gave me a very good quote on 2017 Forester Limited with Eyesight and other options. After I started asking about the fee details she told me I would need to deal with a certified salesman. The first salesman never got in contact with me. I called the dealership twice and Eddie made contact with me. Eddie provided me with a "Bill of Sale" which included unexpected items like "Theft Shield" + ERT Fee + Title/Plate Fee which totaled $1083. Since I'm an Indiana resident all that I need is a $10 30 day drive-away permit that makes me legal to take the vehicle back to Indiana and register it there. I argued with Eddie about this and he finally came up with a story that if I paid cash that would work, but since I was planning to finance part of the purchase he had to collect all those fees. All those fees he added were going to go right into Autobarn's pocket. I filled a complaint today, with the Illinois Attorney general and plan to give Autobarn some more free advertising where ever I can. I am purchasing from a different dealer. More

Feeling great about my new car! Eddie was overall fantastic. My wife and I drove out to Countryside from Chicago to look at a specific used car that they had on their lot. We were hesitant to drive out there as my wife is very pregnant and we didn't want to be stuck in an office closing on a vehicle if she were to go into labor. Eddie assured us that if we decided to purchase the vehicle he would make the paperwork/negotiation portion as timely as possible. We knew exactly what we wanted and needed to make a deal and Eddie worked with the manager and the finance department to make that happen. Couldn't be happier in our new vehicle and couldn't recommend anyone better than Eddie. More

I went in for an equity consultation on my 2012 Impreza, and didn't have any expectations aside from a car wash. I walked away with a 2014 Crosstrek. The process, while a tad long (to be expected), was se and didn't have any expectations aside from a car wash. I walked away with a 2014 Crosstrek. The process, while a tad long (to be expected), was seamless and I never felt pressured . Eddie was great to work with, and even transferred my EZ pass, plates and explained Bluetooth. I had a great experience the first time I bought a Subaru. The quality I have received from that moment on has been exceptional and I would highly recommend Subaru, and furthermore, I would recommend this dealership and Eddie to any friend or family looking for a new car. More

Came into the dealership looking at a used car. Met with Eddie who was rather quiet. Went out and took a look at the car, it was in ok condition and then agreed to do a test drive. Car was mechanically fine and we agreed to go inside and talk pricing. Well after talking pricing, he also wanted to get the business manager involved. So, we go inside his little office and sit down and continue to talk pricing, all while the business manager, Brian, starts working on paperwork. Mind you, nothing had been agreed upon verbally at that point. He then starts laying out pieces of paper in front saying "you need to sign here" to which I contested that nothing had been agreed upon. He insisted we had. I told them I would need a day or two to talk over finances and then I would contact them. Brian then made some very rude and very unprofessional comments, those of which I shall not repeat here. Obviously, it was a terrible experience. I am aghast someone could still hold a job by having an attitude like that. It was completely out of order and reflects very poorly on the dealership as a whole. More

Not only did The Autobarn get me the lowest price on my new Subaru (by over $1500!) they were incredibly friendly. There was no need for negotiation they started at there best price. An excellent car buying experience, Eddie Jedlowski went above and beyond my expectations. I wanted to test drive several vehicles and he had these all warmed up and ready to go rather than having me wait, above and beyond my expectations. I wanted to test drive several vehicles and he had these all warmed up and ready to go rather than having me wait, which was great considering it was of those 10 degree days in Chicago. He explained the features of each vehicle, recommended service, and a quick tour of the dealership so I knew where to go for service or parts. The nicest part of this experience was the lack of sales pressure, he laid out the options and pricing, and let me make my decision. I picked up the car the next day and was in/out of the dealership/financing office in less than 2 hours, which was outstanding. Summary, great salesman, friendly dealership, excellent price, well worth a visit. More
