UPDATE (June 2026): I am downgrading my experience due to a severe post-sale contract dispute with the finance department. While Habby and Kayla were excellent during the sale, the finance team engaged in an unauthorized product substitution at signing. They presented an official Subaru Added Security (SAS) screen but slipped third-party Fidelity contracts into my finalized paperwork. On April 30th, the Finance Director explicitly agreed in writing to void the third-party plans and convert them to the authentic, backdated factory SAS plans. I signed and returned the cancellation forms that same day. Since then, the dealership has completely ghosted me. It has taken over a month and formal escalations to Subaru Corporate Advocacy, the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS), and the Better Business Bureau just to get a basic status update. Great sales team, completely untrustworthy finance management. Be sure to check your financing and service agreement contracts carefully before signing anything. ---- After a disappointing and costly experience with my previous 2025 Toyota Corolla Cross and a local dealer/Toyota Corporate (due to manufacturer defect), I was looking for a fresh start with another car maker. My journey with Safford Brown Subaru in Manassas started with some frustration—I drove an hour from DC for a vehicle I was told was available, only to find it wasn't there when I arrived. However, the way the team handled that initial setback is exactly why they deserve five stars. Instead of the typical "bait-and-switch" feeling, Habby (Sales) and Kayla (Manager) were incredibly professional and transparent. They worked hard to make things right, ensuring the rest of the process was smooth, low-pressure, and respectful of my time. The team truly listened to my needs and worked with impressive efficiency to locate a vehicle with my color and options preferences. They also prioritized my vehicle for a service fix to address a recent safety recall. I also appreciated their transparency regarding their 1.5% credit card fee; being able to put the entire car purchase on my AmEx for the rewards was a huge plus, and they were upfront about the cost from the start. Since I am coming from a difficult mechanical situation with my previous new car, I will be keeping a close eye on how this new hybrid in the Crosstrek line performs. I will provide an update to this review in 3-6 months to share how the vehicle is holding up. For now, if you want a team that values professionalism and honest pricing, ask for Habby and Kayla! More
