I am very sorry for your poor experience with us yesterday. Dealer Rater gives us the ability to communicate with our customers and often settle differences. I understood the level of frustration that you had when I meet you yesterday and I took total responsibility for what happened. I did make a commitment of the 2010 ES to a customer who had an accident and was waiting for his insurance company to determine if it was totaled or not; I felt it was the right thing to do for that customer. As a result of you, your sister and her husband making the trip on a vehicle that was already sold made me feel bad and also obligated to do the right thing for you. Your sister inquired about a “Lexus Watch” in our display case which became our “gift” to her to try and make up for what transpired. I do not expect this small gesture to make everything right, I only wanted to express my understanding of your disappointment and frustration. Buying a car out of state can be an unnerving experience. One has to depend on the third party reports such as CarFax and AutoChek as well as the honesty of the seller and good common sense. I purchased a 2010 RX350 with only 15K miles from BayRidge Lexus.I realize that dealers don't always know everything about the vehicles they take in on trade, but I figured I couldn't go too wrong buying a 2 year old car with only 15K miles and clean reports. Well, I got home (350 miles away)and discovered a couple problems. I made some phone calls to the dealership and ended up talking with the General Manager. He was concerned and compassionate and told me that one option is to bring it back to have the issues corrected. Since this wasn't entirely feasible, arrangements were then made with a local shop to correct the problems. I was quite impressed as Bay Ridge Lexus went out of their way to uphold their image and the image of the Lexus brand.
