George and I also took the vehicle for a test drive previously to my purchase. My experience at Family Hyundai was excellent. No hassles or pressure! I would definitely recommend Family Hyundai to family and friends. I love my new car! More

I found Family to be easy to deal with and like Skip's no pressure sales approach and how he connects with customers, it's easier to buy from a person who develops a friendship over time than an over aggressive stranger. However, there is two areas the dealership needs improvement in however. 1. The visit to Al's offices so he can sale paint and cloth sealers or tire rim insurance is very annoying and lowers my overall score of family by one level otherwise I may be inclined to give you a score of 10. 2. Past service visits. Your vehicle inspection report issued by service after a car has been serviced is not accurate based on my past experience. My battery and brakes on the car I traded in where marked good when in fact service was needed. I had the work done elsewhere due to lack of confidence in your service department. More

Hyundai Tuscan Se Plus My wife and I started out our venture for purchasing a new 2017 Hyundai Tuscan SE Plus by obtaining a TruCar report that provides you with a detail of My wife and I started out our venture for purchasing a new 2017 Hyundai Tuscan SE Plus by obtaining a TruCar report that provides you with a detail of all the discounts offered by participating dealerships in the area. We received 3 local dealership reports. The offered TruCar incentives were the same for all dealerships with the exception of the “Certified Dealer MSRP Discount”. My wife and I decided to visit Family Hyundai even though they listed the lowest “Certified Dealer MSRP Discount” on their TruCar report. We did this because Family advertised on their website under the drop down menu of “Reasons to Buy” that they have a “Low Price Pledge*We’ll Beat any Competitor”. We arrived at the dealership any were immediately met my George “Skip” Hasenjaeger. We told Skip exactly what we were looking for and also let him know that we checked the dealer inventory and he had the requested vehicle in stock. Skip seated us at his desk and said he was going to bring up the vehicle for us to test drive. We sat for over a half an hour and contemplated leaving at that point. While standing by the outside door we noticed Skip. He apologized and said that he had to dig the car out. The car was not the one we asked about. He said that car was on another lot down by the church. He told us that the car he brought would give us the same driving experience. After copying our drivers’ licenses, Skip accompanied us with the test drive. We would have preferred to drive the exact car we inquired about. After the test drive, Skip took us over to his desk. Once at Skip’s desk I provided him with the TruCar reports from Family and the other dealerships. I advised him that Family’s TruCar incentives were exactly the same except for the fact that their Certified Dealer MSRP Discount was $800 less than the other dealer. I advised him that Family Hyundai’s website clearly states that they will beat any other competitor. Skip said he had to go talk to his new car sales manager “Bob Ross”. While Skip was gone, my wife picked up another brochure on Skip’s desk that clearly stated that Family Hyundai had a $1000.00 best price guarantee. There were at least 100 copies on his desk. Skip returned and stated that his new car sales manager said they could not match the other dealer’s price. I advised him of the internet guarantee and the brochure from his desk. He again left to talk to Bob Ross. When Skip returned he informed us that he did not know why the price guarantee had not been removed from the website because that is no longer their policy. When asked about the brochure in his office he said he did know why it was there because that has not been a guarantee for 3 years. I advised him that there were 100 copies of it behind him. He then told me that Bob Ross sated that he would throw in the VIP customer package which included unlimited car washes and every 3rd oil change free. I told him the VIP package was one of the reasons that we came to Family Hyundai. It states on their website that it is one of the reasons to buy from them. I told him that one of my family members had recently purchased from them and it was included free if they placed a Family Hyundai sticker in their back window and all oil changes were included. Skip told me that they do not offer that anymore. The new policy costs $199.00 and every 3 oil change is free and car washes are free only when you come in for service. I said that is not what it indicates on the website. Skip countered with, it doesn’t say there is not a cost for the VIP program. It was now getting late and we were exhausted from the series of events that we thought were not going to happen. I told skip I would contact him the next day. I spoke with Skip by email and phone on several occasions the next day. The next obstacle we ran into was lease financing. I check out the agreed upon figures non Hyundai’s website and was provided with a down payment and monthly price based upon my credit score which was above the required range. I then asked Skip to talk with his finance guy and provide me with a 3 year monthly price. Skip retuned an email to me and the monthly price was $50 more that the price indicated on the Hyundai website. I asked Skip to send me a breakdown of the financing so I could see the difference. He said he would call me back. When he returned my call he stated that his finance guy said we should come into the dealership so everything could be explained. I told him that I did not want to waste any more time driving back out to the dealership. Skip also advised me that his original figures were not from the finance guy, but from another salesman because the finance guy was not available. At this point my wife and I decided that Family Hyundai was not the option for our business. We decided tom pursue another dealership and I called them on the phone. Advised them of the TruCar report and told them the price I had from online Hyundai financing. The phone sales person called me back after speaking with her new car sales person and said they could match everything. I told them I would be in with my wife that night. Later that day I received a call from the salesman who would be handling the sale. He said he would have “the vehicle I wasted to see” ready for me to test drive on my arrival. We arrived test drove the vehicle and sat down for the sales pitch. Our figures were met on paper. I asked about their oil change program which included “all” oil changes. I said that if it was thrown in we had a deal. Negations over. No hours of haggling. Met with finance guy, no surprises. 4 miles on vehicle at time of purchase. I sent an email to the attention of Skip, Bob Ross and Mr. Watson who is the General Manager of Family Hyundai. I explained the aggravating process that I want through in addition to the facades that were presenting in their brochure and online advertising. To date the only response I received was from Skip who stated “Thank You”. More
