In a few words DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME, at least at the used car lot! I have purchased multiple vehicles over the years. This was the first time I have ever walked out of a dealership while waiting for used car lot! I have purchased multiple vehicles over the years. This was the first time I have ever walked out of a dealership while waiting for the finance officer. We were at the dealership for about 4 hours finally deciding on a low priced used 4 Runner only to get jerked around by their deceitful on-line pricing practices. After haggling back and forth over the deceitful pricing we made our way to the finance office. We waited for give or take an hour only to watch two other customers buying new vehicles get jumped in front of us while we still waited. Then they told us we wouldn’t be able to pick the vehicle up for three days due to a bad tire sensor. Although, it is not their fault there are countless tire shops, auto parts stores, and two Toyota dealerships in Tucson where I’m sure they could have gotten a tire sensor, if they truly wanted to take care of the customer. After leaving and going to another dealership they texted and called us at least three times offering to give us the deal we tried to make when we were there. THANKS BUT NO! More

The "surprise" charge for our warranty made our experience horrible. We thought we were getting the balance of the new car warranty as our purchase was a vehicle one and a half years old with milea experience horrible. June 25th – Traveled to Tucson to see 2018 Honda, Jesus Noreiga was sales rep from new cars who helped us. Looked at vehicle and test drove. Asked the questions regarding inspection, needed repairs, updat Noreiga was sales rep from new cars who helped us. Looked at vehicle and test drove. Asked the questions regarding inspection, needed repairs, updates, etc. Was told it’s all good, the dealership fee of $895 pays for a thorough inspection and would not sell any vehicle in need of major work or not safe. 4 witnesses to this information from Jesus heard the same thing. Discussed financing and completed paperwork to pull credit and get financing started. Did not purchase vehicle this day. Continued conversation remotely until purchase on June 27th. June 26th – Continue negotiations on financing with Finance department. Was offered 9% interest with local credit union. June 27 – Traveled back to Tucson to pick up vehicle and sign paperwork. Financing pushed to sign two contracts in case “one fell through.” Was very odd and never heard of this before. Financing guy, Sevian Duarte, was extremely pushy and rude, yelled and said, “Someone like you couldn’t qualify for such a low interest rate.” (new buyer) I refused to sign two contracts. Decided to walk outside to get some air, then came back and finance guy was gone. Found out he had left the dealership entirely. Jesus saw us (me and my girlfriend) waiting alone and retrieved a difference finance person, Jaime Jaquez, who was cordial and presented the acceptable contract with 9%. Only signed the one that was acceptable and shared with us 6/26. First red flag. Drive Honda back to Tempe. 1 witness to this exchange in addition to me. Between purchase and next date, drove vehicle to and from work, noticed slight noises and need for alignment. So, scheduled visit for an inspection at Tempe Honda. July 19th – Took Honda to local Tempe Honda dealership and paid for an inspection. Found major issues with vehicle, some dangerous, so was suggested to stop driving the vehicle until they could complete repairs. List includes repairs totaling over $2500: 1. Yellow: Check tires for unusual patterns or damage, two are in yellow tread, recommend 15K alignment. 2. Yellow: Fluids and other maintenance items, recommend 30k major service and 30k gt fuel system service (3 part), fluids excessively dark and filters extremely dirty. 3. Yellow: Interior, splash shield is damaged recommend replacing with all clips, screws. 4. RED: Engine, rear lower torque rod mount is saturated in oil, recommend replacing. 5. RED: front suspension components: left side compliance bushing is leaking and the right side is cracked, recommend replacing both front lower control arms asap. a. An alignment will be needed after that repair. 6. RED: Battery failed, after market battery failed and the battery sensor is damaged from being over tightened, recommend replacing battery with sensor. July 20th – Called Quebedeaux and left message for used car manager, Josh Hoenshell. Text Jesus Noriega, sales rep. No call back. July 23rd – Called dealership again, talked to Jesus Noriega. Shared inspection video and inspection paperwork with Jesus. Jesus had his manager call me back, Sean, new car manager. Sean said he did not look at video or review paperwork before calling back. He said the following: “We don’t put a lot of dollars into used cars. We want them to start and to stop, that’s it. It’s used vehicle. We don’t make them perfect, especially on a used car with 80k miles. We might change the oil. We don’t replace every single thing. We buy these to keep them at a price point, we don’t try to make them perfect. We assume battery is good because the car starts. We don’t test the battery. Don’t do a detail on the engine. We can’t make it brand new car. We get these calls all the time from people after they buy a car here. Customers are calling all the time with this issue. You can find a laundry list of issues with any car on our lot. We do what we have to make sure it runs and we sell it.” More

It wasn’t easy to part ways due to the fact that I loved the truck, but the larger truck is necessary in my line of work. Only 65 miles on it so far but zero regrets. Thanks Don and Jaime in finance.
