Mr. Crawford, We completed a replacement of the brake booster vacuum pump in December 2025. Your vehicle has been back for other diagnostics or routine maintenance twice since then with no issues. I review previous videos you've been sent for service visits and the brake booster vacuum pump is visibly installed in the correct orientation. When you came in with a check engine light concern, it had a fault for the same system and the pump we replaced 3k miles ago was not functioning. The technician found the wiring harness that activates this pump had the outer shielding tape frayed and after removing the tape, damage to the wiring was found, exposing bare copper wires related to the open circuit fault you're experiencing. The damage is consistent with rodent damage. Our recommendation is to repair this damage wiring and retest the system. If the off chance that the pump we installed is faulty, after the wiring is corrected, that component does include a part and labor warranty with Volkswagen and North Penn VW.
