This dealership just sold me a used car that didn’t have features on the car that they had advertised. The key fob doesn’t detect while im in the car. No heated seats or mirrors as advertised. They said it features on the car that they had advertised. The key fob doesn’t detect while im in the car. No heated seats or mirrors as advertised. They said it has remote start & then I come to find out that kind of car never had remote start. It’s so frustrating. What is even worse to me is the finance manager, Jerome Coleman , told me he would be happy to fix all the issues I had & then stops returning my texts. That is some unprofessional behavior. I’m the future I will know that finance manager + tattoos = lying c**t. I really wish I’d never gone there to get a car. Hopefully anyone reading this doesn’t get ripped off by them too. Update: it’s been a while now & haven’t heard from coleman. Also I just learned they sold me a car with a bad transmission & I found mold in the back seat cup holders! bmw salem, thanks for nothing. My experience with BMW of Salem has 2 different parts. The staff in both the service and sales department were great to work with. In fact if this was the only thing I was reviewing them on I w parts. The staff in both the service and sales department were great to work with. In fact if this was the only thing I was reviewing them on I would do 4 or even 5 stars. The issue I have is they sold me a really bad car. I was replacing a 2002 BMW 530i and I tend to keep my cars for a long time. the 530i was in an accident and totaled so I had no choice to replace it. They had the X3 2014 (6 year old car). It was very minimal and lacks most of the features you would associate with BMW. It cost less than most of the others and seemed ok. Since I got the car I have had numerous problems with it. The staff of the dealership did try to help me out with everything but there was only so much the could do on this "lemon" of a vehicle. I had the car for about 6 months. Due to COVID-19 I was driving very little, maybe 4,000 miles during the 6 month period. During that time the car had numerous water leaks in the headlights and marker lights, the computer broke and had to be reset by the service center, the drivers side door doesn't close correctly and just a bunch of little stuff like that kept going wrong. The car was sold with a 60 day "bumper to bumper" which the salesman said would cover anything during that period. The problem is it doesn't. For one thing water leaks aren't covered. To be fair the service department did deal with them - but again it isn't actually covered under the warranty that covers "everything". My big issue, and why I rate this at only 2 stars, is that they sold me what they have openly admitted is an "obsolete" car. Most of the electronics in the car were disabled because, according to service, after 6 years it is just "too old". After numerous tries by service and myself it was determined that it can't be upgraded and can't be fixed. The car was sold with bluetooth. But it turns out it only has partial bluetooth. It works with the phone for calls but doesn't support any other bluetooth functions like streaming audio. The on board electronics don't support these functions which means it lacked capabilities that my 20 year old car had. And again, you can't upgrade anything. Your stuck with what it is. And unlike many other cars you can't even change the radio. The car dealership then offered to let me "return" the car minus a "small" amount for depreciation. I attempted to do this except the "small" depreciation ended up being almost $5000. That's $5000 on a car that cost $18, so almost 1/3 of the value in 6 months???? My biggest issue with BMW of Salem is they SHOULD NOT OF SOLD AN OBSOLETE CAR in the FIRST PLACE! A lot of hassle could of been saved if they had put this thing out to pasture since it was, as they said, too old to be made to work. I'm stuck with this piece of crap for awhile. I won't take a $5000 hit on the value and of course can't trade it in elsewhere without a huge loss. I have had BMW's most of my life and after this experience I'm not sure I even want the brand again. To followup on this the car was finally returned in October after I had to threaten mediation. Then we had the next step of being hassled. I was promised a refund on my car warranty. This is required by Oregon law. The dealership promised that I'd have it in about 4 weeks. It took a number of phone calls and I didn't get the refund until the end of January of 2021. More

Awesome experience My wife and I spent over a year researching and shopping for our new car. Our journey ultimately led us to Jim @ BMW of Salem and the experience work My wife and I spent over a year researching and shopping for our new car. Our journey ultimately led us to Jim @ BMW of Salem and the experience working with him is what sealed the deal for us. The dealership is cozy and not intimidating and Jim is as low pressure and relaxed of a salesman as you could ever ask for. At no time did we ever feel pressured and although we strung him along over two model years and multiple trips down to test drive various cars he was always willing to help and extremely attentive in communication. In the end we went with a factory order and Jim kept us up to date on its progress constantly. When pick up time came we felt like he went out of his way to make the experience special as we drove off with our new car. The finance department, probably the source of most of my anxiety due to experience with finance managers in the past, was an equally great experience. Daniel was super friendly, not at all intimating, and our deal was written up exactly as negotiated. No high pressure tactics, no undercoating. We could have been wrapped up with him in less than 30 minutes if not for our own desire to chit chat (it was a pretty slow Thursday night). All in all, super happy we went with BMW of Salem. We'll be back and will highly recommend them to friends and family. More
