The staff was terrific! On 3/12/26, I brought my car in for an oil change, tire rotation, and state inspection. The service department found my brakes to be at 5 mm and that my motor mounts were leaking. I was told the brakes cou rotation, and state inspection. The service department found my brakes to be at 5 mm and that my motor mounts were leaking. I was told the brakes could just be monitored since 5 mm is not the end of life. On 3/25/26, I brought my car back in to have the motor mounts replaced. The motor mounts were about $2000. During the motor mounts visit, the comprehensive inspection found my brakes to be good (6 mm); I attributed the 1 mm change to a measurement discrepancy. The next day, about 100 miles later, the brake pad warning light came on when I was at the start of a 1400-mile round trip for work. Thankfully, at my destination, Audi Downtown Nashville was able to fit me in to diagnose the issue. Audi Downtown Nashville found my rear inner brake pads were 3 mm, which is why the sensor was activated. Unfortunately, this diagnostic cost me another $300. I am questioning the thoroughness of the inspection at Audi Mechanicsburg, especially of the vehicle's arguably most crucial safety function: its brakes. I'm very frustrated that this cost me another $300, since I was told my brakes were in good condition, only to find they need to be replaced for over $1,500 for the rears alone. I, like I assume most others, feel somewhat vulnerable in the dealer service department because we must trust their assessment of the vehicle. Unfortunately, I do not have the time or tools to work on my own vehicle; otherwise, I would. This situation reinforces a general distrust of the dealer service department, and I would avoid coming here again, but in this area, we are greatly limited by the small number of Audi dealers. More
