From the initial phone call with Marcela, to the handoff to Javier, and the meeting with Luis to resolve a minor issue with the new car, was so pleasant and painless. Car buying is a stressful adventure, b to Javier, and the meeting with Luis to resolve a minor issue with the new car, was so pleasant and painless. Car buying is a stressful adventure, but the sales side at Manly Honda is top notch. They helped us find a nice car at a competitive price, aiming for customer satisfaction. With that said, the closeout portion of our purchase was the exact opposite. The finance guy ruined the experience for us. I am in business development and did work for Audi and BMW early in my career. During my career, I was always told, it’s not how you start with the client, but how you finish. The client will always remember the last communication they had with you. No matter how well you do on the front end, a bad experience at the end will ruin the experience. I felt the finance guy to be rude, sexist, and had too much cologne on. While he did greet us and made polite conversation at first, my wife was the person making the purchase, not me. She was the one to fill out the paperwork and write the check, not me. When I told the finance guy I didn't want to buy any warranties and was going to the bathroom, he said he didn’t want to continue with his presentation until I returned. Basically meaning “the man” needed to be in the room for the deal. Not good, especially in today’s environment. I stayed to let him finish his presentation and was multitasking with work email on my phone and he seemed to be offended that I wasn't giving him my undivided attention, so he made a sarcastic comment about that. Again, my wife was making the purchase, so that was unnecessary. It was awkward at the end there. Then our sales associates were helpful again in showing us how to use the features on the car and were cheerful as we left. More
